As a computational chemist, Lamees Hegazy, Ph.D., assistant professor of medicinal chemistry at UHSP, conducts research that integrates applied and basic science to bridge the interface between basic and clinical research.

In her book, Acid Revival: The Psychedelic Renaissance and the Quest for Medical Legitimacy, Danielle Giffort, Ph.D., associate professor of sociology, explores why research on psychedelic drugs went into hiatus and researchers’ attempts to restore the legitimacy and credibility of psychedelic drug research.

Tom Burris, Ph.D., FAAAS, FAHA, Alumni Chair in Pharmaceutical Education and vice president for research at UHSP, was the recent recipient of a $150,000 grant to support research related to the biologic pathway known as autophagy.
