Truman State University Equine Science 08.02.2021

We are expecting a foal in April out of our mare, Gay Bars Rosa, by Bowmans Metallic Cat . Going to be a fantastic foal! Due to the unusual circumstances of spring 2020, we only bred one mare, so this is going to be our only foal for 2021.

The auction closed yesterday on our horse sale. Individuals with the winning bid are being contacted today. I would love to share updates on where each horse is headed from here as details are finalized and will share as I'm able. I sincerely thank everyone involved in this process. If you took the time to consider our horses and place a bid, thank you! Thanks to everyone who helped share the information - some of the emails are tough to track, but the Facebook album alone r...eached over 30,000 people! I hope that more people are now aware of the great opportunities available here at Truman! Thanks to Emily Costello for the photos, videos, and helping display horses for the open house! There were also several equestrian team members that helped clean up the horses and get things in order! Thank you to our farm manager Bill Kuntz for keeping the farm in top condition and keeping the student workers organized! Thank you to the students that worked with these horses on ground work, helped foal them out, and helped breed the mares! Last, but definitely not least, THANK YOU to the stallion owners that donated these breedings that resulted in these nice horses. Your generosity provide numerous educational experiences to the students, and now the money from the sale of these horses will go right back into the program to create more educational experiences! I'm so thankful and excited for all the opportunities to come!
