Just got word this home won an award for St Louis Luxury Homes, and will be featured in a magazine and featured on a home tour 9/26. Second time we've been part of this award and on the tour. Ironically, both homes have been in Kirkwood.

Here is a sneak peek at an Optometry office that is nearing completion we did in Ellisville. This was the brain child of our employee Chris, he ran with this and it's turning out awesome, cannot wait to see it done!

Drove by this house the other day we designed last year that is nearly complete. Just need the yard and landscaping.

It's definitely a crazy time we live in right now, but we still have complete faith that the world will make it through this virus and be as strong as ever. With that said, we wanted to update our clients as to how our office is handling the Covid-19 pandemic. Our industry, isn't the most conducive to being able to work remotely, but it is possible. Our staff is going to work from home when permitted, and work in the office as required as long as we are allowed to do so. ...Because we do need to be in the office to perform some tasks, there are certain precautions and measures we are taking. We have suspended in house meetings with clients to prevent the public from entering our office. We will conduct meetings via phone and email. If anyone needs drawings printed and picked up, we ask that they call the office, and we will bring the plans out to them. We are also taking measures to disinfect our office every day as described by the CDC. Again, we have complete faith that with everyone doing their part, we will make it through this and be an even stronger community. Thank you! See more

Neat little festive video filmed at one of our renovation projects.

Nichiha sent a photographer to take photos of our house for their marketing materials. Nichiha is a fiber cement siding, it's the material that looks like wood, but essentially, concrete (they have plenty of other options also). They sent us the photos they took today. Just wish they would have waited till it was 100% complete.....still too much construction debris laying around.

Was asked to renovate this beautiful building from the 30's over looking the Mississippi River....start field measuring it next week. Exciting project to say the least.

Haven't posted much on here lately, been busy with my personal home. Once it's 100% complete, we'll post photos of it. But things are exciting around here....we are working on some really exciting stuff lately. Here is our latest project, 5 story apartment building in Lafayette Square. The main level will be all commercial, the next four floors will be two story apartments, some will have a great view of the city!! As always, we have some really exciting homes we're working on also, we'll have to post photos of them soon! Couldn't be more excited about the work we're doing!

Welcoming to the world Haddie Henson, born on July 16th, 2019 at 7:26 pm 8lbs 7oz 20.5 inches long. Chris and Claire are perfect parents to this adorable little girl! We're missing Chris in the office this last week, but he is enjoying his newest addition. congrats to you both! She is perfect!

I just received word that we won Best of Houzz for 2019 again for Service. That's 4 years in a row now. Last two years, we won for Service AND Design, didn't get Design this year, must be slipping, gotta step up our game...=) Thanks to everyone that leaves positive reviews on the website, that is how we get those awards.

We currently have 5 custom homes under construction in The Hollows of Frisco Hill subdivision in Imperial. Two more lots have been cleared for our new homes (one being my personal home) and we have 4 other homes on the boards. All this in addition to the 14 custom homes we already have there, all in the same subdivision. :)

Always great to get reviews like this. We hired Tim in January of 2018 to create plans for our custom home build. After interviewing several other architects and builders, we immediately knew Tim was who we wanted to work with on the design of our home. He's professional, relatable, easy to work with, obviously knowledge about every stage of the building process, and did a great job of understanding and honoring our vision from the first meeting and throughout the process. ...We brought in examples of designs that we liked and provided written details about what features we liked from the designs and Tim (and his associate, Matt) took our ideas and created what we had been dreaming about. With a few tweaks along the way, we finalized the design in May of 2018. We've been impressed with Tim and his team and have thoroughly enjoyed working with them. One of our modern infill homes in Tower Grove was recently completed and finally hit the market. Built by One North Group, and interior Design by Amelia Dee Designs. I say it turned out great!

We had our first clients come in today to utilize the Virtual Reality glasses. I asked for feedback, they said they were blown away by the technology. It helped them visualize the house, gave them the idea of spacial relationships of all the rooms. They said it was worth more than the money it costs. Needless to say, I was extremely pleased to hear that. I'll be doing a short "infomercial" on it here in the very near future.

New home we're working on in Glendale, MO

It's fun to drive around and stumble upon a home you designed. This one just finished in Kirkwood last month, the homeowners were outside so I stopped in and got to take a tour of it.

So I've done a bad job of keeping this up to date, between workload and vacations, just been buried. But I'd like to share that while we posted we were hiring a few months ago, we actually hired two new people. We'd like to welcome Chris Henson and Dennis Perry. Both bring their own unique experience to this firm, and look forward to them helping us grow!

Anyone have a St. Louis Business Journal subscription? I let mine lapse last year, and I just got an email saying we made the list of "largest architecture firms in St. Louis". Not sure how we made that list, but I'd like to see it...ha. With my lapsed subscription, I can only see the top 5.

One of our clients keeps us up to date on their progress with drone footage. This is one of our modern homes in Washington, MO, cannot wait to see this thing completed!! The owner gave us permission to share this.

New home we're working on in Illinois.

We're always looking for the next technology to help our clients visualize the designs before they "agree" to them. As you've seen, we've upgraded all our software, and the 3D inside and outside become automatic, which is cool. Yesterday, we got a demonstration on what we can do to take that technology to the next level. I can honestly say, I was blown away. We're going to test it on a few projects now, but I suspect later this summer, early fall, our clients will be able... to come in, put on a set of VR glasses, and actually walk through their homes. Just like a video game. You can look up and see the ceiling, walk from you bedroom to the kitchen, whatever you want! There is a second level to this which might come later, but we can also physically project your home on glasses, and an owner can actually WALK through their homes with augmented virtual reality....It's exciting to see the way design is going, and we're going to make sure we take full advantage of what we can. A new subdivision in Imperial is about to begin construction. All county approvals and permits are in place. It's going to be similar to The Hollows of Frisco Hill, those of you who missed out on the Hollows, here is another shot, only a few minutes from the Interstate.

Does anyone know anyone in the architecture field possibly looking for a job? We're trying to hire a professional with 5 or so years of experience, someone who is capable of running their own jobs with little supervision, and manage a team of employees. We have more work than we can handle right now, and are working on a deal to absorb additional work from another firm, who I used to work for, which the owner is retiring. Never get tired of visiting this job site, luckily it was a beautiful day! This modern home design we posted a while back is the home that'll sit on top of this hill and enjoy this view forever.

I'll be at this home to "answer questions" that day, or simply drink Cinco de Mayo margaritas with whoever brings me one. Lol. If you want to tour 5 million dollar plus homes, come on out.

Got to take this design a little further tonight. The goal on this house is to bring the exterior inside. The wood timbers that frame the front entry, will be carried exposed through the home from front to back, as well as a lot of the materials will appear to continue through the house, only broken by glazing.

This home is getting a little closer, we spent a few hours today tweaking this one.....little more and I think we'll really have something! Hope the owner likes it, they're coming in tomorrow. :D

Working on another new home in Arnold. This one is really starting to take shape!

So one of the biggest questions we get is "What will this look like?" Most people cannot visualize what a home will look like from a two dimensional black and white drawing. We are starting to use a new program to develop our construction drawings that does just that. We haven't fully implemented this program yet, as it's a learning curve, but this summer, I expect every building we design to be able to give our clients a walk through. We can put this model up on our TV i...n our office, spin the building around, pick any point in the house, and show you exactly what it'll look like. I'm excited for this new step in our business. This home pictured is our first trial home in this program, it's to be built in Arnold. Still some more tweaks, but we're getting there. It also has the ability to fully render the home, so we can show it in color, with shades and shadows really easily. See more
