You’ve booked your favorite photographer! Check. Now it’s time to decide what kind of style fits the vibe that you’re going for. You consider locations and make sure that you have a good timeline so you know how much time you have for photos and how far you can travel. Once you’ve decided that comes the question, where should we take our photos? This is what we will tell you.... When deciding your location make sure you pick somewhere that will make you smile when you walk by your portrait hanging on the wall. It can be somewhere in nature with trees or makes you feel adventures. Or it could be somewhere that you come back to over and over and relive your memories. Or or could be somewhere super sentimental like this location for Tanna. On my way to the venue I scouted out a location that would be super close to the church and that still had some color on the trees. It needed to be somewhere that the bus could pull over safely as well. Also, we needed to stay close to the bus so that everyone could stay warm while waiting. Only later did we find out how special this spot was when Tanna sent this: I didn’t even realize this until last night when we were talking with friends about where we took the pictures and Dan was saying it was on 150th... which is the road where my dad lives and I grew up on I was too cold to even realize it in the moment. When moments come together so perfectly like this it’s truly something special.

Heading into a new month with the best weather here in Kansas City and it’s bringing us back to life after that random snow last week. Anyone else notice just how much fun our friends and communities were having? It’s so refreshing to see in this season. Also, I know I don’t show my face around here very often so I might just drop in some random photos of us here and there because @brandiewertz got SO many good ones during our quick shoot yesterday morning. But who’s surprised? She’s got talent.

October has been a tough month. Ask any wedding vendor right now and I believe they would say the same. But no matter how tough each day we pull ourselves together to give them our very best self to create our very best work for them. Because each person, family, couple, and brand deserve it. Weddings like Tanna and Daniel keep reminding us of how beautiful and lucky we are to go through October’s that are crazy busy.
