While most of my life this last week has been full on puppy, I wanted to share this. My father in law is HYSTERICAL...dry thoughtful humor that you have to pay attention to. For Christmas all I asked for were clamps. Lots of them in all shapes and sizes. He’s a woodworker as well and sent money so I could purchase what I want specifically. Then this arrived yesterday. Not sure how many years it took to make these and some of the top surface is dry rotted...but it’s FUNNY!! And probably going to be fairly helpful with my segment work. 30 Turnings in 30 Days, day 4. Rice Bowl. Inspired by our dinner plans tonight and a conversation with @missouriturner1 recently. More of a proof of concept with the colors. Going for a ceramic look. White on wood is tricky unless you use a thick acrylic and that’s nit what i wanted. Pretty pleased here. Foot is too wide...it’s almost comfortable. Lacquer on the outside, Yorkshire Grit and Hampshire Sheen Food safe wax on the inside. Crucible. 30 turnings in 30 days, day 3. I didn’t intend to do an art piece today. It just kind of happened. My only goal was a quick winged bowl. Next thing I knew there was paint everywhere. Lol.
