God’s love for his children is a constant that runs throughout the scriptures. All through Israel’s history we see the persistent love of the Father even when His people became complacent, and turn away their hearts. Malachi, whose name means My Messenger, is charged with the task of calling the people to turn back to God, and restore His honor. Even though the people had gone astray, there is still a message of hope and restoration from an unchanging God. The book of Malachi acts as the bridge between the Old and New Testaments, and ends with a promise of a coming messenger who will prepare the way for the Messiah. Happy Father’s Day!
