I wanted to take a second and discuss the Mask Mandate being lifted. I understand we all have different views on this subject. I want to be clear that I will be keeping my mask on for awhile. It has nothing to do with fear but I am way up in faces all day long. You wouldn’t question your dentist wearing a mask. The mask helps me with that extra bit of sanitation that I always felt was lacking. Plus, I like coffee. (There are days you should be real thankful for the mask). You are free to come in without a mask as it will normally be just you and I.

Here is to the start of a busy short week. If you are still needing to get ready for the weekend I have a few spots. I am excited to see everyone.

I was driving around town last night seeing a bunch of new salons and places to get waxed. I am so thrilled for these new owners. I also feel incredibly blessed by my clients. I know each and everyone of you has made your way to my table for a reason. I cannot express properly how thankful I am. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. I am pretty particular about who touches my face. I have two people that I trust. I just had a wonderful facial from Cheri. It was well thought out for my fussy skin. It was relaxing to the point I almost fell asleep by the end. Getting me to relax like that is a challenge all on itself. 5 star for sure!!! Good New Year to everyone! With the new year brings new opportunities for growth. It is an exciting time here at The Smooth Edge. General housekeeping stuff and reminders: 1. We are still being very cautious about covid-19 and will continue to have people wait in their cars until appointment time or I am ready. If you could watch the Aura door to see me pop out in my black scrubs. It is getting colder so I may just try to window cling myself to the door instead of coming ou...t. 2. Phone calls to the shop. 100% Honest I hate the phone more than anything. I do my best to return calls the same day but you will get a much faster response to message me on here. I am trying to get better but to get my house quiet enough for a phone call... is sometimes a challenge. That there is transparency. I am working on other options. 3. I am starting to limit my days but in a wave of excitement, I am adding Mondays to my schedule. Yay!!! National holidays spent with Vanessa!!! This will be changed starting February. Along with adding a day, I will be taking Tuesday and Every other Friday off of my schedule. If you already have appointments scheduled do not worry. Everything will be honored until the changes have been completed. 4. IPL Clients. Please come shaved from the day before. I do not need to see the hair that you have. I am going over it with a machine that can see all. You can tell me how you feel the decrease in growth is going but I don't need to see it. You know your legs (or whatever) best. I trust you. You will have better results this way. 5. I am extremely grateful for each and every one of you. This year has been a challenge for everyone both personally and professionally but we have made it. Thank you for choosing me in the capacity that you have. I feel honored.

It is that time of year again that I feel I must speak up. There are a bunch of laser specialists out there. Most are running amazing deals right now for the holidays. If you don't come to me (which is okay) PLEASE check where they went to school. The state of Missouri does not require any special licensing or testing to run a laser. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones. Edit: not going to a certain school over the other doesn't mean they don't care or will hurt you.

Do it! I will say again that Cheri’s facial is up there with people in the biz for years and better than most. It is worth every penny. I felt like I was glowing after my last one. Spend some time with an old friend.

I have placed a mailbox in my room. Any and all tips this month will be going in that box then handed over to My Final Chapter. I was deeply blessed with a trip with my mom towards the end. Although we did not have this group my cousin was gifted a trip with her husband and children this summer. I will always be grateful.

Small Business Saturday always makes me so happy. I love seeing the community come together. I am so deeply blessed by my family in this business.

Oh my goodness!!! The time has come. I had a facial and a lash lift yesterday by Cheri. Both were awesome! Her skills in her facial massage are ahhmmmmazzing!! For the girl that can't relax I almost fell asleep TWICE!! If your maskne have you down and you want to get freshened up for the winter I highly suggest spoiling yourself.

Hey friends, it has come to my attention that when calling the salon for an appointment you may be put with someone you were not anticipating. There are a lot of reasons for this but mainly there are about 10 people that answer the phones. Please be VERY clear when calling Innovations that you request Eden Meyer. I know none of you want to be impolite when you arrive and it is not who you expect but it is your appointment. Vanessa remains at the old number and FB page. Just b...ecause we are not a group anymore doesn't mean we don't watch out for each other. Remember the old saying Jack of all trades master of none. Eden and I primarily focus on hair removal. You can get $5.00 brows while getting your hair done but remember you came to us to fix your $5.00 brows. We love and appreciate every one of you. Good morning my lovelies, as we approach the Holiday season (yes, that pained me too) I am starting a donation bowl for My Final Chapter. I was blessed enough to be involved with a trip for my mom in her final months. Although, we did not know how short that time would be during we enjoyed every second. I think everyone should be so lucky. My cousin has recently been able to travel and make amazing memories with her husband and children. All possible by this amazing organization. Her Husband has been a true fighter and champion these last few years while fighting prostate cancer. Their faith has been tested time and again and yet they rise. If you feel compelled or wish to be involved please just bring cash. I don't have Cheri to keep my mind straight anymore and I will be very confused. Let's help some people get that final wish.

Just a reminder. I am no longer doing confirmation calls. I know there will be some growing pains on this but we are all adults. You should be receiving an email and a text message. If you are not please let me know. Imagine working 9 hours a day and only being paid for 4 because someone else failed to do their part. Hello friends, I wanted to touch base with you very quickly. We are closed until Wednesday the 19th. I am taking my family to the mountains in a much-needed runaway. This is the time that had already been scheduled out as we are also expecting!! Yep, we are getting an almost full-grown exchange student. He will be arriving late on the 19th. I will work the 19th and 20th then have a few days with him. All of this being said I am sure some anxiety meters went up a bit. We have... planned a weekend of outdoor activities and will always wear our masks and sanitize as I do at home. If you have an upcoming appointment and do not feel comfortable coming in I completely understand. Please call and leave a message on the machine or log into your account to change your appointment. I will call you back when I arrive back home. Tuesday the 18th would have been mom's birthday so please have a mimosa or a Creme Brulee. She would have liked that. I will be saving you all from my blubbery mess that day. I hope you have a fantastic relaxed weekend.

Reposting as many have forgotten or started to take advantage. I do not have the luxury of having Cheri be my gatekeeper anymore and I can tell. Many have relapsed into some pretty disrespectful behavior. If you are never late or miss an appointment this is nothing to worry about. 3 times this week I have had someone 10+ minutes late to an appointment. I will do what I can but I am not running into the next appointment to give you your full service. Please if you know you a...re not needing a portion of what you scheduled or your needs gave changed please give me notice. It is hard to schedule my day if you come in and only need one thing done but scheduled three. I could have used that time for someone else. I try to be understanding but there are a lot of people that are doing this which leaves me sitting for hours in my day. Total waste of my time. So, I am reposting this. I will be sticking to this from here on out. I send out emails and texts the day before your appointment Confirmation calls are discontinued. I do not have a single client that is a child that does not have a parent bring them or tied to their account. I can spend an hour every evening after working 9+ hours calling to make sure you are coming to an appointment that you scheduled. You are an adult. We can do this. Cancellation Policy Effective Nov 1st 2019 We are hoping our new cancellation/recheduling policy creates more awareness of everyone’s time and stresses the importance of proper scheduling. *No Call No Shows Clients will be charged in full for missed services before being allowed to book next appointment. *24 Hour Cancellation/Rescheduling Same day cancellation/rescheduling will require a 50% of service charge at time of cancelling/rescheduling. Clients will be given a courtesy pass for the first instance, after that the charging policy will be applied. We understand emergency situations happen, and will be empathetic in those instances. *Ways To Prevent Missed Appointments Text message alerts have recently been added to the automated system, and will send out text reminders 1 hour before scheduled appointment. We can also set up email reminders that will remind you the day before your appointment and include a link to confirm. Call and leave a message 885-1370 to add this to your account if you are not getting these emails. Feel free to call or message us to add these features to your existing client account. Thank you for your support and understanding, we value your time as much as our own!

Hello Friends, with the announcement from Springfield Public schools yesterday there will be some changes to my working schedule. Yes, my kiddos are older but I want to make sure that they are on track. (Not that I will be any help in Trig ) Good news for some though! I will be adding Mondays to my schedule starting in September!! I have not decided the other day I will take off as we are looking at schedules to coordinate what works best for my family. Everything in August will stay as normal and I will not cancel any September appointments that have been made. Wanted to keep everyone in the loop. Exciting times we are living in.

Click the confirm button and this keeps me from having to call you. Saves us both some time. If you are going to cancel your appointment for any reason please give me more than 24 your notice if possible. I have people waiting to get in and just had a no show for an hour slot.
