A special thank you to Marla Blevins, designer/creator of the Peace Pavilion in the Auditorium and of the Peace for Me exhibit room at the new Peace Pavilion on Lexington St. She has decided to take a rest after years of planning and creation of exhibits. Marla is immensely appreciated for all she has done. We look forward to seeing her on special projects and to consult with in the future.

Statement from the Peace Pavilion The Peace Pavilion has a mission to teach peace and justice to all, but particularly children. For 25 years we have worked to teach peaceful ways in order to make a difference in thousands of children’s lives. In this moment we feel the need to speak out about the recent public execution of George Floyd that has brought a failure of peace to light. Our hearts break for the Floyd family as well as all the families of those injured and killed b...ecause of the color of their skin. We stand in solidarity with all those that confront racism and call for peace. In his famous speech more than 50 years ago Martin Luther King said. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed -- we hold these truths to be self-evident: that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL We will have no peace until this dream is embraced by each individual and institution in this country. The foundation of the Peace Pavilion’s message is that racism, whether individual, interpersonal, institutional, or structural must be addressed by all of us as a nation. We must stand with our sisters and brothers of color. We seek to be a beacon of light in the fog of injustice. We stand for peace and work for justice. See more
