RETENTION: ones ability to retain bonded lash extensions. We talk about this word a lot in our shop, and strive to educate our client's, from the first time we meet them, on how to properly care for their lashes at home so that they have wonderful retention . Retention is a two-way street though. It is also our ability, as a detailed and technically sound lash extensionist, to apply perfect bonds (with the right amount of adhesive) that will last until the hair sheds w/the ...extension attached or we take off and replace the extension. In this picture, you will see she has amazing retention: (very few extensions fell off), the majority of the work in this 1 hour fill was taking off extensions that had grown out from the lashline and replacing them with a longer one, less than 1 mm from the eyelid, and also extending new growth. . Biggest retention killers: -coming to your fills with dirty lashes (makeup, oily or crusty build-up bc you only wash them once or twice a week ), side or stomach sleeping (ANY type of rubbing or friction loosens the bonds and makes them fall off), build-up of skin oils or oil based products break down cyanoacrylate (wash your lashes daily!), daily use of saline and/or alcohol bases eyedrops (wash your lashes!), oils and oil based products around the orbit of the eye CLOSE volume fans and make them look spikey and off-balanced (so they have to be removed) and wastes a LOT of time from the other things we have to do at your fill . . This is a friendly reminder to respect our time as much as we respect yours, and give us at least a 24hr notice to cancel or change your appointment. Life happens, and we get that, but 24hrs is very fair and is all that we ask for from you. . If we do not have a card on file for you, your 50% service fee is due before re-booking. .... We've had this policy for several years, it has not changed! I've seen much more strict policies that ask for 2 or more days advance notice. To run a service business efficiently for all of our clients and the people that work within it, people have to have accountability with scheduling. Someone else may have been waiting for an opening or called when we opened, but we told them everyone was booked....this happens WAY TOO OFTEN. So if anyone wants to be upset for getting charged, call JoHanna @ 234-6581. It's not up for discussion or debate with any of the girls.
