Fun fact: We have just begun engagement season! From Thanksgiving into the new year is the most popular time to get engaged. Another fun fact: These two were supposed to get married this month, but have postponed to next year due to ____. We won’t even say the word anymore! But, rest assured, they’re taking it in stride and enjoying a few more months of engagement bliss! Cheers to Krystal and Clayton and all of the newly engaged couples during this love filled season!... In this moment, we’re thankful for white pumpkins because how perfect do they look on these place settings?! Beyond this moment, we’re thankful for all the beautiful things 2020 has brought to us. Go ahead and read that again. Sure, it’s been a dark year, but the saying, Where there is dark, there is light, is popular for a reason. It’s famous because it’s true.... Be grateful. Love. Be kind. Find the beauty (even if it’s just a pumpkin). Happy Thanksgiving, friends. ~XO Photo by @kaileyconquers Rentals via @ultrapom Floral by @artistryinbloom

! Say yes to fun, is Erik and Natalie’s mantra, which we think is a beyond beautiful sentiment. Soooo, we beautified it just a little more. ’ ... While designing invitations with YellowBrick Graphics the designer said, I could see you having a neon sign at your wedding.... Fast forward to our next planning session, I said, It should be a phrase...something to personalize your wedding. It took all of 1 minute for them to decide on the words everyone has heard them say at some point in their relationship (usually involving cocktails). Then came the backdrop plans, the floral brainstorming, the dessert tasting, the linen choices and, -! Walking out of the 2020 wedding season with big smiles and The Best of Weddings award via The Knot! This award goes out to the top 5% of wedding professionals and we wouldn’t have a chance to get it without our incredible clients. Thank you for your stellar reviews and letting us plan your jaw dropping weddings! This was a year like no other. We’ve rescheduled weddings at a moment’s notice. We’ve crossed our fingers in the days leading up to weddings that were not postponed. ...We’ve reconfigured floor plans to social distance. We’ve taken temperatures at the door. The list goes on and on. The one thing that stayed consistent was knocking dream weddings out of the park, even during so many unknown factors and we couldn’t be more proud to get this award. #theellegirls #bestofweddings2021 Photo by Claire Ryser

You hear us raving about details a lot. It’s even in our bio. . The reason shines through (literally) as we look at the photos of Manny and Damaris’s vow renewal! It all starts with the invitation. That is what gives guests a preview of what to expect! Winter is typically our slow season and Spring is the kickoff to our year. It’s the time when all of our plans and ideas come to life! When all of our weddings postponed this Spring, due to the pandemic, we couldn’t bear the thought of waiting any longer for an event day! Under lockdown orders, we quietly got to brainstorming with Good Earth Floral Design Studio for an editorial shoot that got bigger and bigger as weeks went by with all of us stuck inside.... When the world began to open, we celebrated it in pure Elle Girl style with a few of our faves in the industry by working to bring all those plans to reality! You remember May, right? We all had cabin fever and were ready to let loose and have a little fun. Gabby’s bridesmaids did just that! This wedding was scheduled for May 30th, 2020 and THEN postponed and THEN, on the fly, it was moved back to the original date once lockdown restrictions eased. Gabby and Chris celebrated with their nearest and dearest under the tight mandate of 20 guests and it was absolute perfection. If we could take a snapshot of our minds lately, this would be it. KC PLANS turning every which way in our heads like these envelope seals! We’ve been racking our brains to figure out a way to still make KC PLANS happen this year. Of all years, 2020 has been a year that wedding planners have united to collaborate with each other and the industry as a whole to navigate through the world crisis and the impact on our businesses and clients that none of us were prepared for. In s...hort, a celebration is definitely in order. Sure, we could social distance, wear masks and throw an event in pure pandemic style. However, we created KC PLANS to be up close and personal; chatting face to face with our peers, clinking glasses, hugging, and giving high fives for the work that all wedding planners do in this city. This is an event made to draw inspiration from. We hate the thought of that being clouded by worry. This has always been an evening full of good feelings and we’d never want to do anything to take away from that, even if it means to not have it at all this year. As much as we’d love to and as hard as we’ve tried to make it happen, we just don’t feel right about it. We’ll see you next year, wedding planner friends and you can bet that KC PLANS will be better than ever! XOXO ~The Elle Girls #kcplans #plannersunite Photo and Seals by @littleyellowleaf

I wonder just how many couples have kissed under this clock. Undoubtedly, hundreds of thousands in the midst of saying farewell or hello to loved ones dating back to the train station days or as newlyweds on their wedding day in present time.
