We have exciting news!! At last night's BOE meeting Ms. Thies and Ms. Risner presented to the BOE on a proposal of receiving a Fine Art credit for our Floriculture class. We got it approved for 2021-2022 and beyond!! Thank you to Ms. Thies for the hard work in aligning your coursework and providing such authentic, hands-on projects that challenge our students. Thank you, Boonville BOE! So this means a student enrolled in agricultural education courses at BTEC can now receive Practical Arts credit, Science credit, Personal Finance credit, Communication Arts credit, and Fine Arts credit. Day two of showing appreciation for my staff! Today we refilled the Christmas Cookie Bar and added a Homemade Hot Cocoa Bar complete with flavored whipped creams, mini marshmallows, peppermint marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, and candy canes to stir! Our teachers are already Zooming with students this morning while feeling warm and cozy with hot cocoa. My new mantra is spreading joy and appreciation not germs and negativity :) We are #BTECPROUD!! Yesterday I bragged on our students and their amazing ability to adapt to virtual learning in these last few days of first semester. Today I am showing appreciation to my BTEC teachers and staff for their outstanding ability to adapt all year to changes in education. Whether in-person or online my staff have met the challenges that this year presented with flying colors. A Christmas Cookie Bar is just a small way to show how grateful I am for their flexibility, adaptability, and grit in making this semester as normal as possible for our students. Thank you so much!
