Happy Non-Profit Day! As a non-profit company The American Theatre Guild is committed to bringing the magic of live theatre to underserved youth in the area. For the 2018-2019 season, through our Staging The Future program, ATG has awarded more than $18,000 in grants that allowed for 1700 students to experience all the magic of touring Broadway. Generous donations from our Season Members and Grants make up the majority of the funding for these programs. We are delighted to continue our mission to foster passion, inspire creativity and empower youth within our communities. We thank you for being a part of our vision and helping to support the arts in your area!

BANDSTAND TAKEOVER! If you're wondering what the plot of BANDSTAND is, look no further: It’s 1945, and six soldiers return from war to a changed nation. When NBC announces a national competition to find the nation’s next great musical superstars, they form a band unlike any the nation has ever seen. Along the way, they discover the power of music to face the impossible, find their voice, and finally feel like they have a place to call home.

BANDSTAND Takeover! Here's what The New York Times had to say about BANDSTAND: AN OPENHEARTED NEW MUSICAL THAT GETS THE CROWD JUMPING! It is both a peppy celebration of can-do spirit and a more somber exploration of what American servicemen experienced when they marched home from World War II. It’s a great argument for why theater can sometimes tell a story more boldly and more viscerally. "

BANDSTAND TAKEOVER! Colleen Stanley of Toledo, OH had the following to say about BANDSTAND: "I initially fell in love with the Bandstand soundtrack and I was immediately drawn in by the message of the musical. It follows the story of Donny Novitski, a veteran of the second world war and a group of musicians he compiles to compete in a bandstand competition. Along the way he recruits the widow of his wartime pal who died in combat. As the musical goes on, it intertwines the mental hardships the war placed on these young men and widow and blossoms into a story of recovery, friendship, and love. Bandstand draws you in and makes you feel emotions and empathy at a whole new level. It definitely is not a show to be missed."
