Well another year come and gone. Certainly has been one for the history books. Please be careful as you celebrate the new year tonight. If you are drinking,... have a designated driver. Remember to social distance as best you can and wear a mask where you can't. Highway fatalities are up significantly this year and we don't want to add to that any tonight or to next years numbers over the weekend. Be safe out there, look out for one another and enjoy the holiday. We wish you the very best in the year ahead and we remain here to serve you, our citizens, friends and neighbors to the best of our ability each and every day. May God bless each of you and keep you safe. Sheriff Oberkrom See more

Henry County Announces Another COVID-19 Related Death (December 31) Henry County Health Center has received notification from the St. Luke’s Health System of a death due to complications related to COVID-19. This resident was a 75-year-old male that resided in the town of Urich. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Henry County to 22. The most difficult part of the COVID-19 pandemic is losing our residents to the virus. To each of you who have lost l...oved ones to this virus, we are deeply sorry, said the Henry County Health Center Administrator, Peggy Bowles. This is a time when families and friends usually gather together, but this year, I am pleading with each of you to stay home if possible. But, if you must get out, please wear a face covering, remain six feet apart, and wash your hands. It is the simple things that will help reduce the spread of this disease, and could potentially save the lives or your family members. Henry County Health Center continuously updates the COVID-19 information on the HCHC Facebook page, Twitter, and on henrycohealth.org. Beginning January 1, 2021 there will be weekly updates on the status of the COVID-19 vaccine for our county. For further updates and information please review these social media platforms. See more
