Another magical day in the woods with my brothers in arms. We cooked steak and potatoes in the Wiki Christmas Hut. Went off roading a bit. And did another night... time photo shoot. Got camp cleaned up today. Getting prepped to turn the wikiup into a Christmas tree and do a photo shoot for fun. We will be returning to full time video and photo content production soon. As we’ve really been away from it for years. But camp is looking good. We have a new studio built for video. Action is faster than reaction. If you’re close enough to a gun, you can easily grab it before the attackers brain can fire a signal to the finger to fire. How long do you think it took to build this wigwam that @wildcache built? Which if you didn’t know is an extremely time consuming type of shelter to build. First you must inset all the frame into the ground and use the ground as a lever point to bend the wood and tie it at the top. Green wood must be used and then lashed together to form a dome. And then you have to cover it with some kind of material to waterproof it. In this case, hardwood bark was used and was most likely ...taken from a green fallen tree at some point, and then flattened out before fastening to the frame. Hardwood bark is the most time consuming material around to use because of the length process it takes to remove it and then fasten it to the shelter. So this shelter took awhile for sure. . . The wigwams only advantage over the wikiup in my opinion is the extra head room it provides.
