We brought home a new drill this weekend. An IH 5100 to replace our smaller IH MF drill.

Hopefully everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Ours went fairly smooth, even though we only got 3 hours of sleep Wednesday night. That was the highlight of the weekend right now, the bad news is the 826 is very sick now. Dad and I were moving brush this afternoon when the oil pressure light came on and we shut the tractor down. IH has both the transmission pressure sensor and the engine oil pressure wired to the same light. So we checked oil levels. Transmission was about 2 gallons low on oil, so I topped it off. We restated the tractor, and the light stayed on. All functions work (steering, brakes, TA) so the MCV pump was not the source of the light. When I reved the engine up, you could hear a medium knocking and the engine was shaking the tractor. Long story short, the engine rebuild I was hoping to put off for another year is now here.

Harvest is done! Our friend Ethan came over with his Gleaner and shelled the rest of the corn for us while we continue rebuilding our 715 combine. I'm grateful for his help, and can't thank him enough.
