Brent Buerck appointed to state board JEFFERSON CITY Perryville City Administrator Brent Buerck has been appointed to a state board by Governor Mike Parson. G...ov. Parson named Buerck to the Missouri Development Finance Board while making four other appointments to various boards and commissions and filled two county office vacancies. According to a news release from the governor’s office, Brent Buerck has served the City of Perryville as Public Administrator for more than 11 years. In this role, he oversees the city’s public works department, leads economic development initiatives, and is responsible for the development and management of the city budget. Previously, Buerck was a senior program administrator for the Missouri Division of Youth Services. He is a member of the Missouri City Manger’s Association and Missouri National Veterans Memorial, among others. He was also named 573 Magazine Person of the Year in 2020. Buerck holds a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master of Science in Public Administration from the University of Missouri.

Genevieve High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team claims another MAAA Conference Championship with their victory over the Park Hills Central Rebels Monday evening by a final score of 53-41. The Junior Varsity Dragons dropped their game Monday evening to the Park Hills Central Rebels by a final score of 36-48. The varsity Dragons next play in the MAAA Conference Tournament which gets underway Wednesday at Mineral Area College. The JV Dragons play at Arcadia Valley today at 5 p.m. STE. GENEVIEVE -- Valle beat visiting Bismarck 54-20. The Warriors play at Fredericktown Thursday. PERRYVILLE -- St. Vincent plays at St. Pius today at 5:30 p.m. PERRYVILLE -- Perryville plays junior varsity and varsity games at De Soto Thursday at 5:30. IN BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: STE. GENEVIEVE -- Valle won at Herculaneum 69-46. The Warriors play at North County Thursday at 7:30. PERRYVILLE -- St. Vincent hosts Windsor for freshmen, junior varsity and varsity games today beginning at 5 p.m. STE. GENEVIEVE -- Ste.
