Looking for self motivated outdoorsmen and canoe lovers to work at a campground for the summer of 2020 starting immediately. Sunburst Ranch on the North Fork of the White River in southern Missouri is looking for help from young outdoor lovers willing to work hard to help keep our resort looking good and running smoothly. We will pay you a reasonable wage in exchange for your hard work. We work hard but also have lots of fun ensuring our clients have the best vacation possible. Days off are often spent floating, fishing, or just relaxing by the river. Lunch is provided everyday for all of our employees. Check us out on facebook and on the web to see what we are all about.

Happy to say that our dump station at the ranch is back! We still have a little bit more work to do to make it look better, but it’s here and usable. With that said, I have one RV site left for this weekend! The weather is looking to be sunny and hot. A perfect time to be on the water. Call 417.284.3443 to reserve.

Sunburst Ranch 14.09.2020

Good morning! The water levels have dropped some from yesterday, but not quite enough for us to feel comfortable having folks float from Hammond down. We are offering the landing float today for rafts and kayaks. Our phones still aren't great because Centurylink still hasn't fixed our phone issues. If you can't get a hold of us, try our Facebook messenger.

Sunburst Ranch 01.09.2020

Good morning! The water levels are still a little high today and unsafe for our customers to float. Due to this we are not floating anything but rafts today for the landing. At this time our rafts are sold out. It looks like tomorrow is going to be a much better day to float if the water keeps dropping. Our phone lines are touch and go at the second, but you can always message us on our messenger here as well.

The holiday weekend is coming up and we couldn’t be more excited! We’ve got our fingers crossed for good weather to head our way. We’re mostly full on campsites and cabins for this weekend, but we still have lots of boats available to float. We know many people might be thinking about staying closer to home this summer. If you’re thinking about a cabin getaway, we have openings the next two weekends after Memorial Day and more later in the summer. Give us a call to reserve your spot today. 417-284-3443 Awesome campground night photo credit to Chance Maxville

Remember the cabin we took down piece by piece this winter in the woods? Well we took some of the wood and recycled it to make new signs for the campground. We’re hoping this helps folks find things a little easier, especially after dark. I’ve got a few more to make yet, but I’ll save that for a rainy day. Can’t wait for everyone to see the new signs soon!

Sunburst Ranch 16.07.2020

Spring has officially made it to the Ozarks. The bluff is changing colors by the day, the water is a beautiful blue, and the new campground trees are budding. We can’t wait to see our campers this summer! We still have lodging open for this summer including some weekends! Call to reserve your spot today. 417-284-3443

Exploring the outdoors can be one of the best things for your soul. Hiking Devil’s Backbone, looking for morel mushrooms, fishing, or floating can be a great way to continue being isolated but refreshed. We’ve been getting some calls recently about camping and folks bringing their RV. Keeping everyone’s safety in mind we are going to be placing anyone camping or at an RV site a site apart at least. For cabin rentals we will be using an ozone machine after each guest plus a th...orough cleaning. There will also not be any renters within 24 hours of each other at this time. These procedures are in place to keep a safe environment for all. We hope everyone’s spirits are high and we’re looking forward to celebrating in those summer months when this all is over. Pictured below is Blue Spring Trail, part of Devils’s Backbone. A trail within a 15 minute drive of the ranch. Cheers!

Spring time is getting closer and summer will be here before we know it! For those of you with cabins already reserved, I’ve started calling to verify dates and to get deposits. If anyone would like to call me and verify instead that works too. 417-284-3443. For those of you wanting cabins this summer, nows the time to start thinking about it. Our vacancy calendar on www.sunburstranchcanoe.com is updated with the latest available dates, but it can change often this time of year. On another note, we’ve been out on the river ourselves fishing a bit when the water levels have been right. It’s been pretty tough, but Bryan picked up an awesome, healthy looking Brown trout last week. I like to think he had a little help from his guide too.

Sunburst Ranch 26.06.2020

Here’s a little peek into one of the projects we’ve been working on at the ranch. This cabin was destroyed by the 2017 flood but still had lots of great material to it. You may have seen it in front of the log cabin. It didn’t look great. We took it apart piece by piece to reuse the wood and tin for other ranch projects. Now we just have to level it out and we will have a new campground spot!

Sunburst Ranch 17.06.2020

Happy New Year Everyone! We hope you had a fantastic holiday season. It was a great day yesterday to be out on the river for the first float of 2020! We have lots of cabin openings still for weekdays and some weekends this upcoming summer. Give us a call to get your spot reserved. We will also be calling folks with reservations for deposits at the end of the month. Looking forward to seeing everyone this year!

*Fall Canoe Sale* Many of you have asked this summer if we would be selling any used boats, and we have gone through some boats and found a few canoes to sell. These canoes range in price depending on the repairs needed. Some have cracked bottoms, missing thwarts, seats, etc. (most all will need some repairs) If you are interested in purchasing a used canoe message me through Facebook Messenger for prices and pick-up.

Just a little while ago this cute puppy was found up by our lodge just hanging out! Male. Super sweet, knows commands, and now asleep in our store! If you know the owner please call and/or share the post if you don’t!

As we’re gearing up towards our first big summer holiday we have some exciting news! We are the first outfitter in the state of Missouri to become members of Costa’s Kick Plastic Campaign! What this means is that we are looking to reduce the use of plastic here at the campground in order to help our environment. Did you know that one in four fish tested have plastic in their gut?! Not good! We have officially kicked selling plastic water bottles here at the campground and are now selling canned water. We hope you will join this initiative with us this summer by leaving those plastic water bottles at home. || #Costa #KickPlastic

Our first group of the year is floating down the river today! The weather looks awfully nice this weekend for a float trip. Don’t miss out!

Sunburst Ranch 08.10.2019

Justin and I have owned Sunburst Ranch for 15 years. We didn't know how to run a canoe rental when we moved here but with good advice from other outfitters and a couple local guys that were willing to learn alongside us we put our heads down and leaned into this crazy business. We found we loved running a campground and our customers quickly became our friends. This summer Justin and I will be stepping back to part time and our good friends Bryan and Stephanie Bade will be r...unning the show. All of our prices, policies and services will be the same. You will still see Justin and me as well as Dee, John, Dylan and Alicia. Justin will still be hauling canoes and driving a bus (and will still make you walk home if you get out of line) and I'll still be in the camp store - just a little less. With their love of the outdoors and our river, Bryan and Stephanie are a perfect fit for Sunburst Ranch. They are excited to take Sunburst forward and have a lot of great ideas for the future. Who knows, maybe with a little time off in the summer Justin and I might jump in and float with some of you! If you have any questions or are looking to book your next trip, shoot us a message!

Sunburst Ranch 30.09.2019

You asked so here you go! More photos of the Memories Made cabin that we have available down by Dawt Mill. After that first post it rented for quite a few dates but we still have space available. Here is a link to our availability calendar: http://sunburstranchcanoe.com/exported/vacancy00all.html There are three bedrooms downstairs. One has one queen, one has two queens and one has two twins. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. One has a queen size bed and the other has three twin beds. I hope that helps some of you planners.

Sunburst Ranch 28.09.2019

Here are a few photos of the new cabin we will have available this summer. It's called the "Memories Made" cabin and is located just past The Landing on the road toward Dawt Mill. It sleeps 13 with 4 queen beds and 5 twin beds. It's currently available most dates this summer but you can check availability on our website. Go to www.sunburstranchcanoe.com then go toward the bottom of the campground and lodging page. $400 per night. More photos to come!

Sunburst Ranch 18.09.2019

I was caught a little off guard when someone wanted to go canoeing today. It IS supposed to reach 60 degrees so why not? Dragging a boat down to the river has me thinking about summer. For those of you with cabins already reserved I'll be calling in the next week or so to verify your dates and to get deposits. If anyone wants to call me and verify instead that works too. 417-284-3443 For those of you wanting cabins this summer the online vacancy calendar on www.sunburstranchc...anoe.com won't be updated for a couple weeks until I get the deposits in. It will be correct as of today 2/2/19 but things change when I call to do verifications. If you have been waiting for a cabin cancellation I'll post on Facebook when I update the online calendar so you can check. Finally, we are adding a new cabin to the mix! It's down close to Dawt Mill so for those of you that were wanting to float with us but go down to Dawt during the evening this is going to be perfect. We are still doing some fixing and setting up but I will have pictures to post soon. It's going to sleep somewhere between 10 and 16 people depending on how the beds are arranged. It doesn't have river access but does have a river view from the deck. You also don't have to drive on gravel. Handy for those on bikes or driving expensive sports cars.

Sunburst Ranch 09.09.2019

Happy New Year from Justin and Amy at Sunburst!

Sunburst Ranch 31.08.2019

Good morning! For those of you who said "SNOW FLOAT!" this summer... Here's your chance. For a snow day it's supposed to get warm.

Sunburst Ranch 21.08.2019

Eli and I climbed the fire tower at Tecumseh on Friday as a little rain rolled in. The photo on the left is looking west toward the river. You can see a little fog rising off. The right side photo is looking east toward Howell county.

Sunburst Ranch 14.08.2019

We took a road trip around Ozark County yesterday. It was drizzling most of the time and as we got later in the day the fog really started to set in but it was still beautiful. Hope you guys get to get out and enjoy fall!

Sunburst Ranch 12.08.2019

Fall is a great time to visit the river! The colors are just starting to show. The next three weeks should be best. For those of you that live close just give us a call if you can sneak away for an afternoon when the weather is nice. Also, if you are into beautiful drives in the fall give the Glade Top Trail a try. It starts up by Ava and goes south. Trust me, it's worth the trip!

Sunburst Ranch 30.07.2019

Pretty early fall day. More people should be taking advantage of this perfect weather!

Sunburst Ranch 14.07.2019

How beautiful is this photo? It was taken by Myles Allred during the Labor day weekend. Need to escape the light pollution of town? We are in one of the few totally dark spots in Missouri (and the weather is supposed to be perfect this weekend).

Sunburst Ranch 29.06.2019

We had a rainbow land at the ramp this afternoon!

Sunburst Ranch 27.06.2019

Pretty morning for a float trip!

Sunburst Ranch 17.06.2019

Things may be a little slower this weekend because we are training a new employee. Please bear with us. She is very loyal and tries hard... But is horrible with the computer and her phone skills are lacking. Thank you for your patience.

Sunburst Ranch 11.06.2019

Hangar had been cancelled for the weekend but was filled quickly with the help of a facebook post. This is the best place for updated information and openings here at the ranch.

Sunburst Ranch 26.05.2019

One of my best friends came down from St. Louis with some friends from the U.K. and I got to take them out for their first float trip. We got rained on at the very end but it was a great day to be outside!

Sunburst Ranch 17.05.2019

We had a little storm last night. Surprise! Our phone is out AGAIN and CenturyLink Business won't be out to look at it until tomorrow. We DO have all boats available today so if you want to drop in you can. Rafts and tubes any time before noon, canoes and kayaks any time before 2. If you would be willing to bring cash instead of credit cards that would be great. Thanks for understanding!

Sunburst Ranch 07.05.2019

We will be shooting off a few fireworks tomorrow night and still have camping availabile if you want to bring your own or just come join in the fun. The fourth is looking pretty laid back on the river so call and book a float. For the kids don't forget to stop in and get them a flare copter and some majical flames for the campfire!

Sunburst Ranch 30.04.2019

Looks like a beautiful weekend coming up! Remember to bring shade canopies if you are camping! Also, wanted to remind everyone everyone that we will allow fireworks this weekend and next so if you or your pet are sensitive to fireworks let us know and we may be able to move you to a spot far from the loudest area. Still have plenty of riverfront sites open for camping if you don't need electricity.

Sunburst Ranch 14.04.2019

Last weekend was tons of fun down here at the ranch. The campground was full with lots of old friends and a few new friends starting up yearly trips at a new place. Thanks to everyone for making it great and braving the less than ideal forecast. This upcoming weekend is looking warm and dry and we still have lots of tent camping but no cabins or electrical spots. Hope to see you this weekend. We will be allowing fireworks both this weekend and next weekend and will have a special spot for shooting them, so bring them on down and show us what you got! These will probably be the slowest two remaining weekends of the summer as people think they are avoiding the crazy 4th of July crowds.
