SUGAR COOKIES WITH ICING--This cookie recipe has been used by my family for generations. We always have them on our cookie platters during the Holidays. The cookie itself bakes to perfection--not too crunchy and not too soft. It holds its shape well and compliments the delicious blend of flavors in our icing. Perfect for any occasion. I was cooking today with my little granddaughter and I noticed she was beating the spoon on the edge of the bowl pretty loudly. I asked her why and she was doing it the way I do it. I realized many years ago that I do the same thing and it took me a long time to realize WHY I do it that way. It is because my own Mom does it that way, but my Mom is hard of hearing and she never realized that she was beating the side of a pan or bowl to death trying to clear her spoon. Children mimic adults and it passed on down the line generation after generation. Try as I might to stop doing that, I still catch myself in the act.
