WE’RE OUT OF BURGERS!!! YOU GUYS ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! STAY TUNED FOR WHAT WE’LL HAVE IN STORE TOMORROW!!! TAKE WHAT YOU NEED, GIVE WHAT YOU CAN. TON...IGHT, STARTING AT 5:00, WE WILL BE MAKING CHEESEBURGERS WITH FRIES TO GO. THIS MEAL WILL CONSIST OF A CHEESEBURGER, LETTUCE, TOMATO, PICKLE AND ONION ON THE SIDE, FRENCH FRIES AND A RAMIKIN OF KETCHUP. MUSTARD AND MAYONNAISE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. FRESH BURGERS WILL BE BROUGHT OUT EVERY 30 MINUTES WITH THE LAST ROUND COMING OUT AT 7:30 (PENDING AVAILABILITY). IF YOU NEED A HAND UP, COME BY AND GET WHAT YOU NEED (LIMIT 2/PERSON), ANY DONATION IS APPRECIATED. IF YOU JUST FEEL LIKE YOU NEED A CHEESEBURGER AND FRIES (AND WHO DOESN’T) COME ON BY AND LEAVE A DONATION. 100% OF PROCEEDS FROM THIS DRIVE WILL GO TO HELP OUR EMPLOYEES THROUGH THE NEXT FEW WEEKS, OR HOWEVER LONG THIS IS GOING TO TAKE. WE WILL BE SET UP AT THE FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT WITH MEALS READY TO GO. PLEASE COME IN THE FRONT SOUTH DOOR (CLOSEST TO THE BANK LOT), GET WHAT YOU NEED, LEAVE A DONATION, AND EXIT THROUGH THE FRONT NORTH DOOR. WE WOULD LIKE ONLY ONE CUSTOMER IN AT A TIME FOR PEOPLE'S PRIVACY AND TO AVOID CROWDING. WE DO HAVE A FEW REQUESTS WITH WHAT WE ARE DOING... 1. PLEASE ONLY TAKE WHAT YOU NEED. WE ARE TRYING TO AVOID WASTING FOOD SO PLEASE DON’T GET OVER EXCITED AND TAKE TOO MUCH JUST TO THROW IT AWAY AT HOME. 2. IF YOU CAN GIVE, PLEASE DO SO. 3. IF A LINE SHOULD FORM OUTSIDE, PLEASE RESPECT PEOPLE’S SPACE AND ACKNOWLEDGE APPROPRIATE SOCIAL DISTANCING. IF A LINE DOES FORM, IT SHOULD MOVE PRETTY FAST. 4. PLEASE BE POLITE AND COURTEOUS. IF THIS IS NOT FOLLOWED YOU MAYBE ASKED TO LEAVE WITHOUT FOOD 5. WE PREFER CASH DONATIONS BUT WILL HAVE A CARD READER ON SITE IF YOU PREFER. WE PLAN ON CHICKEN WINGS ON WEDNESDAY AND WE WILL LET YOU KNOW ABOUT THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. PLEASE SUPPORT OTHER DOWNTOWN AND LOCAL RESTAURANTS AS WELL BY GETTING CARRY OUT OR DELIVERY. DOOR DASH, UBER EATS, POSTMATES, AND OTHER DELIVERY SERVICES TAKE A PORTION OF EACH SALE WHICH IS TOTALLY FINE DURING REGULAR OPERATIONS, BUT IN THIS SITUATION EVERY DOLLAR IS IMPORTANT. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR BEING SUCH AWESOME PATRONS OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS! PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE SO WE CAN HELP AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. HAPPY ST PAT’S

Updates to the Food Stamp (SNAP) Program Funding for the Missouri Food Stamp Program is impacted by the partial government shutdown. Here is the most current information available in regards to the impact on benefit issuance: February Food Stamp benefit will be dispersed in January (one month early)... There will be no Food Stamp benefit issuance in February Therefore, the benefit issued in January will need to last for both months At this time it is not known if Food Stamp benefits will be available for future months. Therefore, Food Stamp recipients should carefully spend the Food Stamp benefits so that their food supplies will last. St Paul’s Food Pantry will be open at its regular days and hours to assist those in need. Tuesdays & Fridays 10:00 Noon Wednesday evenings 5:30 7:30

Here's a summary of the latest information we have as to certain assistance programs and the effects of the government shutdown: TEFAP and CSFP Harvesters advises that it has adequate inventory in-house for the USDA commodities programs. This includes The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). These programs will continue as usual, with no disruption, at this time.... If the shutdown continues for a longer term, there may be impact or delays in these programs, which will be fully communicated. SNAP The USDA announced this week SNAP benefits will be fully funded through February. However, in order to ensure February benefits are distributed and fully funded, States are working through plans to request and load SNAP benefits on participants' EBT cards by January 20. Note: The benefits loaded by January 20 will be February's benefits, and therefore there would be no additional funding available until it's time to distribute March benefits. Distributing February’s benefits earlier will create a longer time between allotments than usual and families may need to turn to food pantries to fill in any gaps. March benefits are not guaranteed at this time. Both Missouri and Kansas will continue to accept and process SNAP applications during the shutdown.

Last fall we had the KCP&L Regulatory Department out to help with our Neighborhood Cookout and to help with handing out food to over 100 families. We really appreciate the help! As we prepare for a blistering summer, remember to do all you can to keep cool. If you're wondering how you can help those you may drive by, socks are extremely important!
