Press Release Human Trafficking Operation On October 23, 2020, the Oak Grove Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Missouri Attorney General’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force, conducted a sex trafficking operation in Oak Grove, Missouri. The Attorney General’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force consists of law enforcement and victim service providers from around the state working together to combat human trafficking, rescue victims and make our commun...ities safer. This operation had cooperation and investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Johnson County MO Sheriff's Office, Saint Joseph, Missouri Police Department, Kansas City Missouri Police Department, FBI Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, IRS U.S. Marshal’s Service, along with victim advocates from the RISE Coalition, Relentless Pursuit and Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition (CMSHTC). During the operation, 10 adult females were contacted and offered victim services, including food, lodging, onsite medical services, counseling/therapy and drug rehabilitation. Three (3) children under the age of 5 were taken into protective custody and released to the Missouri Department of Social Services. Five (5) adult males were contacted and detained as part of the investigation. Further details cannot be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing, but Human Trafficking continues to be a problem in Missouri and across the United States and law enforcement in Oak Grove and around the state continue to take it seriously.
