I know you haven’t heard much from me recently, we’ve been extremely busy assisting and closing real estate transactions. We’ll report those on a later date! My attention now is drawn to next week’s weather forecast. Although your home or business is likely well insulated, I would CERTAINLY GET PREPARED for this next bout with winter weather. This is a long cold snap coming up and heeding the advice below can save money and or a life: 1) unhook all garden hoses from outsi...de faucets. 2) in semi-exposed northern wall areas of your home, you may have to let water trickle slowly to keep water moving to keep pipes from freezing. 3) if you have had pipes freeze in a certain area before of your home or business, it can happen again if precautions aren’t taken. 4) get your fireplace wood together.......if you heat by fire or just want to enjoy the ambiance of the fire place, sounds like you’ll need it! 5) BE SAFE when using your fireplace or wood stove. ALL FLAMMABLES stored outside! 6) if kerosene space heaters are used, make sure the area is well vented and/or have a CO2 detector installed. 7) DON’T USE frayed extension cords on space heaters. DON’T leave extension chords rolled up tightly and energized. This too can start a fire! 9) Be prepared for an emergency on the highway. Take extra blankets, snacks, lighting and a charged cell phone. 10) Eliminate prolong outdoor exposure and wear hats and gloves. Pass these tips along to your friends and neighbors too.
