We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls regarding the Covid-19 vaccine. The high call volume is overwhelming our phone system capabilities. Due to this high volume of calls we ask that anyone who wishes to receive the Covid-19 vaccine to please be patient and read the information below. Missouri is currently in Phase 1a of the MO DHSS Covid-19 Vaccination plan which focuses on vaccinating healthcare workers and long-term care facilities. When Missouri moves into ...Phase 1b and Stone County Health Department receives the vaccine we will begin vaccinating Stone County residents who fall into the Phase 1b category. If you are interested in receiving a Covid-19 vaccination and would like to be put on the waiting list we ask you to NOT call our office but to call or text the Covid-19 vaccination numbers below. You may leave a message or text the following information to be put on the waiting list; your name, phone number and qualifying phase 1b category (eg. Over 65, First responders, High Risk individuals age 18-64, Essential Workers). A text or voice message is sufficient at this time to be placed on the list. When the vaccine has been received and Missouri has moved into Phase 1b you will receive a call to pre-register and you will be provided an appointment at that time. Vaccines will be given at a drive-thru clinic at various locations in the county. Please do NOT expect a return call until February and please do NOT call multiple times with your information. Only Stone County residents who meet the criteria below are eligible to be placed on the list at this time: -Over age 65 -First Responders -High risk age 18-64 -Essential Workers Important information: Individuals who are Immunocompromised will need to have an order from their physician to receive the vaccine. Stone County Health Department will not be vaccinating women who are pregnant or are breastfeeding and individuals who have had a serious reaction to a vaccine or injectable medication. If you are a healthcare worker in Stone County and would like to receive a Covid-19 vaccine, please call 417-357-6134 today by 4:00 pm. This must be the first dose. If you have already received the first dose you must get your second where you received the first. Individuals must have direct patient contact to be classified as a healthcare worker.

We are saddened to confirm the Covid-19 related deaths of 4 more Stone County Residents. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families during this difficult time. Stone Counties positivity rate has also increased to 14%. We are currently investigating cases resulting from holiday gatherings. These cases will ultimately have a snowball effect for weeks to come.

On a day that should be happy and joyful another Stone County family will be spending the holidays without their loved one. Another resident has lost their fight with Covid-19. Our hearts go out to their family and loved ones during this difficult time. We ask all our residents to take extra precautions during the holidays. Protect your family and loved ones. Wear a mask, wash your hands often, stay 6 ft apart and avoid physical contact such as handshakes and hugs. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Stone County Covid-19 Vaccine FAQ Does the Stone County Health Department have Covid-19 Vaccine Currently? No, vaccine has been ordered, but not received. Healthcare systems and some large chain pharmacies have received vaccine to vaccinate healthcare workers and Long-Term Care facilities during Phase 1A of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) Covid-19 Vaccination plan. ... When do you expect to receive vaccine? We expect to receive vaccine towards the end of January. We will only be able to vaccinate individuals who fall into the state declared phase of the Missouri DHSS Covid-19 Vaccination plan. Does the Stone County Health Department have a plan in place for giving the vaccine when it arrives? Yes, Stone County has a plan in place to vaccinate individuals according to the phases in the Missouri DHSS Covid-19 Vaccination plan. How will you notify the public when the vaccine becomes available? When the vaccine becomes available Stone County Health Department will post on Facebook, the website, in newspapers and other media outlets. When Stone County Health Department receives vaccine how will it be distributed? The Stone County Health Department will vaccinate groups of people that are in the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services declared phase. We will not be able to vaccinate people outside the current phase. The Missouri DHSS will notify us when we are able to, as a state, move onto the next phase. In Stone County, vaccines will be administered in a drive-thru or curb-side fashion. How do I sign up to be vaccinated? Stone County Health Department will be pre-registering for vaccinations soon. The Covid-19 vaccine is coming to Stone County. At this time we do not have a specific date as to when we will get it. The first of the vaccine will be for Longterm care facilities and healthcare staff providing direct patient care.
