With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, here are 6 tips from #yourfiredepartment to help you and your family have a safer Thanksgiving holiday: 1. Stay in the kitchen while cooking. The most common cause of cooking fires is leaving the stove (or fryer) unattended. 2. Check on your foods frequently always be sure to have an adult in the house at all times. ... 3. Use a cooking timer: NEVER set it & forget it! 4. No baggy clothing, keep hair pulled back. 5. If you’re not cooking it or cooking WITH it, keep it AWAY from the stove or oven. 6. Be on the lookout for any signs of a grease fire. Be prepared to smother any small fires with a pot or pan lid. Like, Share, Follow for more! See more
