If you can come to daily Mass you might con...sider signing up for that so that I can get others on the weekend who work. I will contact you about the Mass you can attend. Thank you! See more
Some great news! Stay tuned for an important message from me about how Public Masses will return locally for the parishes of St. George and St. Jude. Mass wil...l return at St. George on May 4 and on May 16 at St. Jude according to local health regulations. It is important for people to know that the dispensation from Mass continues and that people over 60 and those with underlying health conditions are being encouraged to continue to stay home for your safety. Masses will continue to be live-streamed until dispensation from Mass ceases. Much more info to come! See more

Dear St. George and St. Jude, I am sad to report that all Public Masses are cancelled through April 3rd throughout the Diocese. Naturally the parish offices wi...ll be closed throughout the next two weeks as well as any devotions or stations of the cross cancelled. Please know that I am with you during this difficult time. I will be offering Masses for you all throughout this this time and keeping you intensely in my prayers. You will hear from me soon with more information about how I will minister to you during this difficult time. It may take some creativity! For the time being you should contact me directly at (816)230-4127 with any needs. God bless you all! In the words of Padre Pio Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry. Stay Holy St. George and St. Jude, Fr. Bryan
Concerning the Coronavirus Masses- We will continue having Masses and devotions connected to those Masses unless the bishop says otherwise. It is important fo...r you to know that you are dispensed from Sunday Mass in the following conditions. Bishop Johnston himself grantsduring this time of the pandemic the following dispensation for persons within the Diocese of Kansas City St. Joseph: For those who suspect they or a housemate may have been exposed to COVID-19. For those who feel, in conscience, that they may be endangered by COVID-19 by their presence in a group of people at Mass. Those persons who are absenting themselves are asked to please let their pastor know so that parish personnel can stay in touch and pastorally communicate with all those unable to attend Mass during this time Please tell your elderly and faithful relatives I insist they take care of themselves. They may choose to pray the rosary, watch Mass on tv etc. We will make the following precautions at Mass 1. We will not pass the collection around (it will be available after Mass) 2. The Gifts will not be brought forward 3. The Holy water fonts have been emptied. You make request a bottle to take home. 4. Space yourselves out as much possible 5. Again if you are sick please stay home and recover 6. Precious Blood suspended 7. Sign of Peace Suspended Other Cancellations- For the next two weeks we will cancel all unnecessary activities. This includes: 1. Fish Fries (St. Jude will still have one tonight and then cancelled afterwards) 2. St. Joseph Table at St. George 3. Lunch bunch at St. Jude 4. Soup and Stations at St. George( we will pray stations after Thursday Mass) 5. Retreat on Mar. 28 at St. George 6. All unnecessary meetings should be postponed. You will hear about them individually. I know some will disagree, but I choose caution. If these sacrifices over the next few weeks have the potential to save some lives I find them well worth it. Our faith is Jesus Christ and we should not fear but we should take proper precaution. Consider this a Lenten penance we undertake as a community in order to show our great love for our seniors and vulnerable who are cherished in our community and who we want to keep safe above all else. As a Father it is my duty to protect and care for the people entrusted to me. Let us continue to prayer for one another and check in one another. The prayer below is most fitting. "O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Patroness and Protector of the People of the United States of America, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin." Amen. Fr. Bryan Amthor
