He never quit Henry Beecher said, One’s best success comes after their greatest disappointments. A lot has happened during the last eight years of Alan Delahay’s life. In 2012, the St. Joseph resident decided to write his first novel, The Legend of Eloh. Writing a novel is in itself a daunting task. But for Alan, his writing journey would include many challenges outside of writing this book. After devoting 25 years of his life working for a large property manageme...nt company, the company sold the assets he was managing, and Alan was let go. Alan would also spend many years taking care of his wife who is battling cancer, and to top it off, both have had to recover from Covid sickness. The challenges were at times overwhelming. This first book of a three-book series takes the reader on an epic journey into a world that is strangely familiar to the book’s main protagonist, Ross Blair. He is faced with constant difficulties, some life-threatening, and must overcome his deepest fears. During his journey he meets winged warriors, both whole and fallen, bearers of light and wielders of weapons. Love lost is found more real in this bewildering, surreal land. Ross Blair and author Alan Delahay have several things in common; the biggest one is a deep personal drive to win the battle. Everyone loves a story that mirrors our own lives. For many of us, our world has recently been turned upside down, and many of us are facing our own challenges; some of us are fighting just to survive.
