A frequently asked question here at the shop is why do my injectors go bad are they just junk? or what causes an injector to go out... Simple, filtration is the key to long fuel injector life. 15,000 miles is the average life span of a stock fuel filter system. Say you forget once or maybe twice. Sure your truck still starts and runs... However there is a good chance you just ran some rust or debris threw your fuel injector that sprays fuel at an insane rate. Do this a handf...ul of times and you are calling people like us to tell you what happened to your trucks drivability. One thing we strongly push here at the shop is the Fass Fuel Systems aftermarket fuel pump. It's very easy to understand why, FASS stands for Fuel Air Separating System. Okay now you ask, Air? Yes air.. having air in your fuel system is similar to dry firing a bow and arrow [to give you an example] it's extremely hard on the internals of the injector and also leads to bad fuel milage. Trucks equipped with the FASS FUEL SYSTEM get nearly 100% of pure fuel to the injector 100% of the time. A one time purchase of the FASS pump is much more affordable than a injector replacement at any given shop.
