Hello! It's Kim & Ashley here... we have some exciting and bittersweet news for you! As you may have noticed, our lives are becoming increasingly wonderful and full! New babies + older babies + new creative projects + husbands + family + new careers + all-of-LIFE ! ! ! So... our news is... We are saying goodbye to Stellar! There it is. We just said it. It's definitely a little sad, but we have been talking a lot about FOCUS and what it means to spend the precious moments ...of this one life in the few places it matters most to us. Saying goodbye to Stellar has been a product of those conversations. We are excited about what this means for our families, our friendship, and our future endeavors! So don't you worry, we will still create & design, and we will still do a lot of that together, just not officially under the operation of a business. Ashley is a busy Momma and wife and although this takes up most of her time she is looking to start a new design endeavor soon, so keep an eye out for that! Kim is busy loving all-things-HOME, mostly her husband and family. She has also started a new career as a Realtor! You can follow her on FB thru her Kim Scowden, Hubbert Realty page. Thanks for all the love and support through the years! This Stellar-season has been so wonderful!!! You, our clients, have been so great to work with and we are thankful for the relationships that have been built as a result of this time. Love, Ashley & Kim
Hello, it's Kim here! I know I promised "after" photos once I finished in the girls' room... so here they are! This project has been only a concept in my mind for months. That always-amazing-husband-of-mine helps bring the concepts to life. We kept the girls out of their room for the entire weekend and "revealed" it Sunday evening after we finished. We've lived in our home for a year & a half and now have a better idea of how we use our space. In their room we were able ...to implement some better utilization of space & storage. We also created some fun & functional features according to how they use the space in their room. We reminded our kids that this is "not the norm." We want them to be aware that most kids don't get custom-designed rooms, according to their specific likings... it just so happens that their parents happen to have talents in these areas... so this is a gift we can bring our children. Whereas other people have skills in other areas, we are not tech savvy, we are not good travelers, we are not automobile mechanics, on & on & on... When we first got married I entirely expected Jeremy to change my oil, spark plugs, replace alternators when needed, & give my car regular tune-ups... just like my Dad did. After a year of marriage & me imposing this expectation upon him, Jeremy told me one day, "Look, I don't really want to learn how to fix cars. I know your Dad did, but that's not me. I like to fix houses. If you want me to try to learn how to be a mechanic, I guess I could, but then I wouldn't be able to spend as much time learning how to fix houses." From that day forward, we have taken our car in to have the oil change. And Jeremy is my own personal handyman. So do your thing, do what you love, do what makes your heart come alive! And most importantly, use that gift to bless others. Wow. That was a super long, unexpected tangent. Ok, here's the room. It's way cute & I love it! See more
After an incredibly busy past few weeks, I finally have a free Saturday! Since we moved into our new home (a year & a half ago), I haven't yet taken focused time to decorate my girls' room. I've been collecting pieces & ideas for the past few months... today is the day I get to put it all together! Its a bit of a mess now, but will be oh-so-cute when I'm finished! Days like this rejuvenate & energize me. Take time to do what fills your soul! (Stay tuned & I'll post more pics!)
Do you ever feel unsure? Maybe it's your job, relationships, your parenting....where you're headed in life. I know that Kim and I have felt this many times as we seek where the Lord is taking Stellar. We made a commitment in starting this business that we would only go where He led. And He has truly been good to us. Thanks for following our journey....we hope in the process of "making things pretty" we also reflect Him.
Ashley here! Operation "Get rid of all honey oak" is well underway in our new home. This kitchen already feels brighter and bigger to me!! It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do!
