Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Although Bishop Johnston has dispensed all Catholics in the diocese from the obligation to participate at Mass on Holydays during the pandemic, the faithful are still encouraged to observe the day with appropriate prayer. One way you may choose to do that is by watching today's Holyday School Mass at https://youtu.be/f0BfNE_HW4E. For those wishing to attend Mass in-person today, you may join us tonight at 6:00 pm in the church. Masks and social distancing are required.

Daily Advent Reflection Tuesday, December 8, 2020 Written by: Noah L. Artist: Kenneth What piece of us truly means the most? If the way to win the game of life is to be happy, then what is the top, most essential piece of the puzzle? Is it our bodiesour physical state and health? Is it our intelligenceour rationality or capacity? What about our wealth, success or power? I’m not sure. Maybe they’re more important than I think. But, I don’t give them the credit. Yes, I curre...ntly possess these items, and would most certainly complain (greatly) without them. But I don’t think they matter. I think there’s something else. You could call it having friends, or loving relationships, or goodwill. Then again, I think the other side of the coin is important, toobad relationships, grievances, and pain. Emotion is what matters. Nothing else gives us strength like emotion and willpower. And nothing can really conquer younot money or hurt or hate or deathrather, you can only give up... I worry for Americans because I think it’s very easy for us to fall into that trap: thinking emotion isn’t important, only money and fun and a steady future. It’s no secret; that’s something America is known for... However, I think Christmas is a great test for us. Am I the person who expects gifts and treasure and feasts without grace or gratitude? Or am I the person who thinks twice about my family, friends, and general communitymaybe they should mean more to me than they do? Or maybe it’s a little of both... Either way, I hope you choose what makes you happy this Christmas. See more

All Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church celebrated annually on November 1. Also known as the solemnity of All Saints, it is a day dedicated to the saints of the Church. "All of the saints in heaven and on earth form a cloud of witnesses who journey with us as we make our way through life. They offer us inspiration, wisdom, intercession, and support. They direct us toward true happiness and remind us that we are all called to be saints. Do what you do with great love. Know that you are not alone. Believe that you can persevere. Have great faith." A message from M. Lynn Hire, Executive Director - FIRE Foundation: A million thanks to all the students, families, educators, and parishioners of St. Elizabeth Parish and School for ALL you did to support FIRE Foundation’s fundraising efforts this fall! We are so blessed to partner with such an enthusiastic and generous community. As you know, St. Elizabeth, once again, is the winner of the esteemed FIRE Ball Cup! Congratulations to all and thanks for buying all those raffle ...tickets. The Irish are on a winning streak! Happily, the St. Elizabeth Resource Center was the winner of the raffle prize ($1996) so the Irish can claim a double victory! Thank you for such an amazing effort! The 2020 FIRE Ball Raffle raised over $58,000 to support inclusive Catholic education in our Diocese!!!!! Today we celebrated with students with Kona Ice treats, a visit from Kareem Rush including a one-on-one round of STE between Kareem and Mr. Riley, and finally the shaving of Mr. Riley’s hair (courtesy of the 5th-grade class). We thank you for supporting inclusive Catholic education and for making St. E’s a school where FIRE’s mission burns brightly in the hearts of students, educators, and families. St. Elizabeth will always be a place where love, belonging, and acceptance of all students rules! Thanks for opening your hearts and celebrating the special gifts that every student brings to your learning community. On behalf of the FIRE Foundation Board, staff, and our entire family of supporters, thank you for strengthening the inclusion revolution! God bless you all!

Returning to three weekend Masses depends on the availability and willingness of Ushers, Check-in, and Clean-up Volunteers. Many people responded to our September survey indicating they would be willing to assist with these tasks. Your willingness to serve is one of the reasons we are able to resume a full Mass schedule this weekend. We are grateful to increase the opportunities for all to attend Mass who feel ready to return, but there is a lot that goes into these in-person Masses, much more than usual. We need volunteers to check people in, ushers are needed to help direct people to available seats, and volunteers are needed to disinfect the pews after every 4:30 pm and 7:30 am Mass. Please review the available slots and sign up to help in November and December. Thank you!
