As many schools are heading back this week, St. Mary's High School would like to wish the former students and teachers a happy start to a new year! Also to the recent graduates now entering college, returning to college or joining the work force, much success and prosperity to all! And most importantly, don't forget where you came from~~Forever A Trojan!!!

One year ago today, the Faculty, Staff, Parents, Students and Families were given the news that St. Mary's High School Bundschu Memorial, Independence, MO would not be opening for the 2013-2014 school year. It was news that was tragic, upsetting and not well received. However, everyone pulled themselves together and made the best of the last few months spent together. One year later, we still have the St. Mary's Trojan Spirit, and the legacy will live on in each and every one of those who passed in those halls, learned the knowledge that was instilled in them, passed the ball to their teammate, ran their heart out, and cheered on their classmates!! It is up to each and everyone of us to keep her spirit alive~ FAMILY OVER EVERYTHING~~ FOREVER A TROJAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last week, the students of Archbishop O'Hara High School held a food drive entitled "Beans for Jeans" for the Bishop Sullivan Center. This senior service project was led by Anthony Morgan and Ryan Hughes, former St. Mary's students. They not only collected can goods, but also $1,800 in cash that was presented to Mike Matthews from the Bishop Sullivan Center at our Lessons and Carols celebration on Monday! Pictured are Anthony, Ryan, Mr. Matthews and Mr. John O'Connor, Principal at O'Hara. Thank you to those boys who continue to share in traditions they participated in at St. Mary's High School. The blessings continue!

We hope that all of our families, alumni and friends are enjoying this Blessed Christmas season and finds all of you healthy and warm! There was a delivery of the attached to Archbishop O'Hara High School commemorating St. Mary's High School Day on May 14, 2013, from the Honorable Emanuel Cleaver's Congressional Record. The letters were sent to give copies to Mrs. McSpadden, Mr. Fulkerson, and Mrs. Espinosa, the former St. Mary's High School employees who are now at O'Hara High School with approximately 45 SMH students. This just goes to prove that St. Mary's High School Bundschu Memorial, Independence, MO, will live on in our hearts forever. FOREVER A TROJAN!!!

The O'Hara Celtics vs. St. Pius X Warriors football game is leading with 17,306 votes!! Our goal is to get to 20,000 supporters by 7:00 p.m. We will win the Game of the Week, $500, a visit from Len Dawson and have the support of all, including our SMH Trojan families. Even though our St. Mary's doors are closed, some traditions will still continue! Coach Bates is still holding the Annual Alumni Run which will be this Saturday, August 31, 2013. (always the last Saturday in August). Hey, alumni, whether you ran or not you might want to start a new tradition..... The race starts at 8 a.m. at Mill Creek Park. Hope some of you can make it, and put a big smile on Coach Bate's face! Remember, FOREVER A TROJAN!!!

Mrs. McSpadden would like SMH students to know that the St. Mary's "Forever A Trojan" yearbooks are available at O'Hara tomorrow from 7 am to 7 pm. Go and get them!!

Attention Alumni! The search is on for composites from the Classes of 1968, 1970, and 1971. All composites are going to be digitalized for prosterity and those three years can't be found.
