Early this morning (Sunday, Nov 29) Information Technology (IT) updated the certificate that allows for secure communications to authenticate devices through th...e campus' wireless network. Faculty, staff and students should check their wireless devices, including phones, tablets and laptop computers, to ensure they have connected to the wireless network on campus. The only action that may be required is to "Accept" or "Trust" the new certificate. Devices will automatically ask to "Trust" the new certificate when connecting. In some cases the device may need to Forget the network, reconnect and Accept or Trust the certificate at that time. Devices will NOT have to be re-registered. Contact the IT Help Desk with any questions at (573) 651-4357 or [email protected].

Upon graduating from Missouri State University, I received the Presidential Management Fellowship in Washington, DC, where I was a Program Analyst for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s international operations and coordination efforts. I also completed rotational assignments with the Departments of Defense and State. At the Pentagon, I worked on the Joint Staff’s Pakistan-Afghanistan Coordination Cell and received the Joint Civilian Service Achievement Award for coordinating/authoring the 2010 Afghanistan-Pakistan Annual Review, which was endorsed by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of Defense before its submission to the National Security Council. At the Department of State, I worked in the Office of the Special Representative to Muslim Communities. I regularly drafted policy papers for Secretary Clinton and other senior officials and traveled as the Ambassador’s Executive Assistant. I am married to Dr. Eric Sentell, an English instructor at SEMO. We reside in Piedmont, MO, and have one son, Stryder, and a menagerie of pets. In my free time, I enjoy laughing, playing with my son, spending time with my family, traveling near and far, reading, playing tennis, practicing yoga, watching period dramas, deer hunting, fishing, camping, and volunteering with our local church, where I serve as Small Groups Coordinator and lead several small groups. Five Fun Facts: 1. I've bowled in the White House bowling alley. 2. I've been on board Air Force 2. 3. I've traveled to 18 countries outside of the US. 4. I've stayed in the Ambassador's mansion in the Hauge. 5. I've been on top of two active volcanoes - Klauea in Hawaii and Mt. Vesuvius in Italy.

This month, we are also highlighting graduates from our Child Development program. First up is Jordan Condict! When did you graduate from Southeast?... I graduated in May 2019. What was your major? Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Studies: Child Development What is your current position (and where)? My current position is an Alternative Case Manager for the Missouri Children’s Division. I take care of children in foster care, help them get back home, or find permanency for them. How did your program prepare you for your current position? The Child Development program prepared me by offering a hands-on program through the Sikeston location. The program offered different labs and internships that prepared me for my current career. Do you recall anything specific about your time at Southeast Sikeston that had a big impact on you? Most of my classes were at Sikeston. I came from a small school, so it was important for me to attend a smaller college. The staff at the Sikeston location were always helpful. College is not always easy. The two biggest influences while at SEMO were my advisor, Dr. Madigan, and one of my Child Development professors, Dr. Garner. They were beyond helpful, and if it were not for them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Would you recommend the Southeast Sikeston campus to others? I would definitely recommend the Sikeston location to anyone looking to stay local, wanting smaller class sizes, and wanting to have one-on-one interaction with other students and professors.
