In honor of all those who served, we thought we would post this song recorded by the Sons of the Pioneers in 1945. https://www.bing.com/videos/search

On this Veterans Day, we proudly salute all the men and women who have shouldered the duty of ensuring freedom for our nation. Thank you for your sacrifice, your bravery, and the example you set for us all.

Friends, our good friend and former Pioneer bassist Mark Abbott (20062018) recently survived a case of Covid-19 but is now battling blood cancer and could sure use our prayers and love. Benefit concerts are being scheduled, but distant donors may contribute directly using the links below. Mark was kind enough to share some details here: "A bunch of folks have been reaching out concerning some recent posts about benefit announcements here on Facebook concerning my health, so ...here is the lowdown. I was hospitalized for COVID the last part of June/first week of July. I thankfully recovered, but all of my blood numbers were WAY out of whack and have remained so (hemoglobin, red and white blood cells, platelets all dangerously low). They have rollercoastered, since COVID, so approx 5-6 weeks ago I had a bone marrow biopsy. I have a blood cancer called Myelodysplastic Syndrome (originally called Pre Leukemia or Smoldering Leukemia"). Most people that get this have 2-5 Chromosomes compromised, causing the bone marrow to produce juvenile, deformed blood cells called blasts’ that the body cannot use. I have been receiving transfusions of platelets and red blood cells since the biopsy. The standard treatment is 5 weeks of hospitalization to eradicate this cancer, kill the bone marrow completely, have stem cells transplanted, recover for 2 months or so and THEN reenter the hospital for a marrow transplant. Unfortunately, this won’t be my fate. I have 17 of my 23 chromosomes compromised, so a marrow transplant would be rejected and the cancer will just return. I am going to start a gentler form of chemo this next week and this will give me 4-6 months. Possibly longer, if the chemo works. Here’s the hard part for me. While we have our ducks in a row concerning life insurance, emergency fund, etc, there is coming a time in the near future I will be unable to continue working and I don’t want to completely exhaust our reserve, making it tough on my wife until life insurance does take up the slack. So, I am asking for help. There are a couple benefits coming in the next 5-6 weeks on my behalf, but some may not be able to attend. I am posting my PayPal, Venmo, and mailing address at the bottom of this post for anyone that has the means and feels moved to contribute BUT by no means feel obligated; prayers, good vibes, and positive energy work just as well. We have all had quite the year and I TOTALLY understand everyone is trying to make the best of a very trying year. Thanks in advance for any help, whether it be monetary, prayers, and positive energy. God Bless." Mailing address- P.O. Join us today in yodeling out a hearty "Happy Birthday!" to our own Dusty Rogers. It seemed like destiny when Dusty saddled up with the Sons of the Pioneers in 2018, some 84 years after his famous yodeling dad, Roy, helped found the group. Happy birthday, pardner! with Dusty Rogers.

Empty Saddles in the Old Corral. It is with sadness that we have learned of the loss of our greatest supporter, fan and friend, Bob Hubbard. Bob was an entertainment luminary to many. His professional career started as an original member of the world famous Jordanaires with whom he performed every week on the Grand Ole Opry. After military service Bob returned to Southwest Missouri and formed the Foggy River Boys, a vocal harmony group that quickly attained popularity whi...ch led to building their own theater on the Branson strip. They became a perennial favorite and one of the hottest tickets in town for several decades. With an ready laugh and strong stage presence Bob easily connected with the audience as lead singer and MC. Whenever a Branson community event needed a master of ceremonies Bob always got the call. Bob had always been a huge Sons of the Pioneers fan so in 1986 when he found out they were interested in finding a seasonal performance venue in Branson he wasted no time signing the Pioneers up for their own show as the matinee where they remained until 1992. Bob and all the Pioneers formed a fast friendship that has lasted ever since. After Dale Warren's death in 2008, the Pioneers asked Nolen Berry and Bob to become their management and booking team. The Bob-Nolen Agency was formed and has been performing those services ever since. Bob loved the Pioneers and always promoted and supported them unselfishly for which we are deeply grateful. Our world will be smaller without Bob Hubbard. Happy Trails Bob. See more
