SSG David Johnson at the Army Recruiting Office in Blue Springs reached out to us today regarding this 5k. If interested, see the details below.
Recently patrons of our district lost some items in a house fire. With the assistance of Walmart Oak Grove - SE Salem St donating a generous $200, we were able to help brighten the kids day. Firefighters of Sni Valley have created this association to assist our local community with various needs. Firefighters of Sni Valley donate money from their paychecks to the association fund.
Before and after photos of the Henderson property. The association assisted with the beautification of this property while Mr. Henderson is in rehab. The full story can be found at FOX4 News Kansas City.
Stay safe this Christmas season.
To all those in the Fire Service that follow us, we are hosting a couple of training classes. Please see below for more information.

We would like to thank everyone that voted today and supported Sni Valley to pass the levy.
Polls close at 7pm, still plenty of time to vote and support Sni Valley.
Please remember to vote today and support your Fire District!
Mark your calendars and come visit us for information about the upcoming levy question on the April 3rd ballot.
Today and until April 3rd, you will see many members of Sni Valley, Local 3133 and members of the community going door to door talking about the levy (question 1) on the April 3rd ballot. Sni Valley was the recent recipient of a SAFER Grant. The grant allowed us to hire 9 additional personnel. The grant helps cover costs of the hired personnel for 3 years. The 35 cent levy will be phased in over the course of 3 years, making it an easier transition for the citizens of our... fire district. Please remember that the proposed levy is based off of assessed evaluation. An example of what that means and costs is provided in the pictures below. The 9 additional personnel are needed to help with the increasing call volume Sni Valley has seen. A high percentage of calls often come in at the same time, or within an hour of each other. These are referred to as back to back calls. These 9 additional personnel aid in covering those calls, helping make the fire district safer. 2005 was the last time Sni Valley was approved an operating levy increase by the voters. It was for 15 cents. In 2006, Sni Valley ran 1,308 calls. In 2017, we ran 2030 calls. Thus far for 2018, we are projected and on pace to run 2,423 calls. Also, the ISO ratings for Sni Valley have been lowered and took affect February 1st. Please check with your insurance company to see how this could lower your homeowners insurance premiums. Those within 5 miles of a fire station and within 1000ft of a fire hydrant are a Class 2. Those within 5 miles of a fire station but not within 1000ft of a fire hydrant are a class 3. Anything outside 5 miles of a fire station is a Class 10. These ISO ratings also apply to those near Station 2, as it is now staffed on a full time basis. The lowered ISO ratings are reliant upon the 9 new positions remaining permanently funded by the levy increase. If you have any questions please feel free to ask in the comments below or call us at 816-690-6990.
