Meet your Journal Board Ben Davisson is our Online Editor: Originally from Denver, Colorado, Ben moved to St. Louis in 2013 and is happy to call the city his home. Ben graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Finance specialization. During the summer of 2019, Ben interned for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and he is currently working for the law firm Mathis, ...Marifian & Richter in Belleville, Illinois. His work experience has led him to develop an interest in trust and estate planning, as well as other areas related to elder law, which he plans to specialize in after he graduates. Additionally, Ben has a passion for protecting the environment and preserving our natural resources, as well as for civil rights advocacy and criminal justice reform. Ben is deeply grateful for his experience at SLU LAW, both for the intellectual challenge that it has provided, as well as for the wonderful community of students and faculty that he has been privileged to be a part of. He is thrilled to be a part of the SLU LAW Journal and his article Exodus From the Land of Confusion: Why Hughes v. United States Supports the Overruling of the Unworkable Marks Doctrine and a Change in Court Practice can be found in Volume 65, Issue 1 of the Journal. When he does get a break from law school, Ben can most likely be found somewhere in nature hiking, running, cycling, climbing, or boating. Or he might just be hanging out at home with his kids. Meet your Journal Board. Christopher Doyle-Lohse is our Articles Editor: His favorite thing about being in law school is the sense of accomplishment he gets. Graduating from law school and becoming an attorney has been his dream for as long as he could remember. Although he’s taken the scenic route in getting here, he feels accomplishing this dream is well within his grasp. After graduating in May, he plans to continue his commitment to public service. Christopher’s favorite thing about being on Law Journal is learning about the wide variety of legal issues and the different solutions scholars advocate. As Articles Editor, he reviews all external article submissions into the law journal. This provides him with a lot of exposure to what the legal community is concerned about and what is being done to make things better.
