We took advantage of the calm winds today to get the row covers put on the strawberries. Now the strawberries are covered for the winter.

We got the rest of the strawberries planted today. Now they can grow and get settled in before time for them to go dormant this winter.

The garden is over for this year. Wish it would have been a better season but we take what we get and hope for a better season next year. Now we are waiting for the strawberry plants to come around mid September and we'll get them in the ground for next spring.

The garden is about gone but I did find enough of these tomatoes to make dad some tomato juice. Only got 7 quarts so he will have to ration them this winter . This is the first time I've done any canning since Mom passed away and she's been gone 4 years. I sure did miss not having her to help me
