Simply Distressed LLC

This last weekend I worked on our basement again. I’m trying to get this room together so the kids (and husband) have a place to go. We also like to watch movies in our basements. I wanted something large for this wall, something long but not tall since the ceilings are lower in this basement than our other home was. This is built in 3 equal pieces that measure up to 13ft. Long total! I kept the same look with these, natural oak and handles, as I did upstairs. I also pain...ted the back wall a little darker grey, hammered zinc by Sherwin Williams in a semi gloss. This is perfect, this wall gives my husband the option for a larger tv, the kids toys have hiding spots and I love the way it looks... everyone is happy. If you love how this looks, I’ll be posting a similar table that will be available the day of our holiday event. In a smaller version of course, but you could also add more pieces together to make something larger or even a top bookshelf as well. I love versatility on custom furniture! The holiday at event is 17 days away!!! And remember we are teaming up with Megan Marie Wright with Halfmoon Houseplants LLC. I’m excited to offer a big variety of plant stands and she will have beautiful plants to fill them. She also has her unique halfmoon stands that will also be at the event.

Working late and working hard for our upcoming show! Last week was all rain, so this week we are catching up on custom orders and the show pieces that you can purchase the day of. Busy, busy week for us! Are you coming to see us November 21st! Waynesville high school 9-4pm.

Well. I didn’t make it to get the rest of the supplies I needed because it’s a rainy day here in Missouri. I still need crown molding, the side trim and more caulk. But, I did get it together for the most part, enough to share photos! I had 6 boxes of clothes to still unpack and it felt good to empty them and not see them stacked all on the floor. When I build furniture, I don’t want to just build it. I want to create a beautiful space to look at, a space where anyone wou...ld love to be! I love how how this came together, it’s beautiful, functional and a great use of space. Our Closet is coming along we made huge strides on it today! My little partner and I worked hard getting everything in today, anchored and caulked. I often get asked do you have to caulk? I did a before and after once I applied the caulk. To me it’s a must! It makes everything clean, seamless and professional! Next I will finish the tops, add crown molding and trim the sides. I’ll have finished photos soon. ... Now, I’m going to relax and watch the last debate. Have a great evening! Abby

This month seems to be all about bedroom sets and the color of the month is kona! Lol This is a full set that went to its new home tonight. It’s for a smaller spare room, so we made a custom, tall & slim dresser to save on space. Hey friends & followers. I got the drawer pulls on our oak dresser today. I also have attached the link where I found these on amazon. Now that the main anchor piece is in, I can start working on the side pieces. When building anything this large, it can be intimidating! I always tell people, when I build a lot of big pieces, like closets, think of it like a bunch of boxes. You have to just decided the look and size of each of the boxes you are putting together to create... a big piece. This entire closet will be 3 separate pieces. First, the anchor piece which is my dresser and then 2 rectangle boxes which will be sides. They will have moveable shelves and 2 separate hanging sections. I had a super bomb closet that I built for our house in Colorado and since the move, I have really been missing it! Last weekend, Jay had a chance to get the carpet pulled up in the master close of our new home and I started the dresser for our new closet! I’m super excited to have another custom closet here soon. This is affecting a lot of people and small business for sure! We were a little shocked on our supply run today on the increase on the lumber. Some as high as $5 more PER BOARD! We will have to make some adjustments but everything will still be super reasonably priced for you all, as always! The best way to get an accurate price quote from us is to send a message along with your aprox. Dimensions needed. ... Hopefully the lumber prices will go back to a more reasonable price soon!?!?
