Today, I choose to focus on joy. This doesn't mean that I am still not angry about recent events or saddened by revelations. I can and do still experience those emotions. However, I can also experience joy. And I can do so without guilt or shame because the human emotional experience is complex and layered.... Today, I choose joy so I can be of better service to others. I choose joy so I can have something to give. I choose joy so I have the emotional capacity to hold space for anyone who needs it. #joy #choosejoy #yoga #yogateacher #tuesdaythoughts #yogi

Pris says she is the true of the show. Yes, there is now a video in my content library in which Pris has a cameo. To see it you'll need to be a member of my online yoga studio. Link in bio. #wooferwednesday #beaglemom #beagle #yoga #yogateacher #onlineyoga #onlineyogaclasses #virtualyoga

I know at least one QAnon believer who is a current Yoga teacher in St. Louis. I know many that are getting into the very dangerous realms of conspiracy theories. Unfortunately, conspiracy theories are running rampant in the Yoga and wellness industry. I don't know if these individuals are so lost on their own path they cling to anything, if they've lost sight of what Yoga really is and it's teaching, if they are just easily persuaded, or a combination of many things.

Joy is a voluntary and involuntary experience. Meaning we can choose to feel joy. Collectively and individually, the world has been experiencing and grieving loss for months. It is okay to feel all the emotions associated with that, even the lighter emotions that might seem guilty to experience. (How can you feel something "good" when so much is so crappy?) But it is okay to recognize the moments of joy. Joy is many things. Joy is hope. Joy is the prospect for the future. Joy... is a level of acceptance. Joy is remembering moments of delight. Choosing joy doesn't mean everything else is ignored. This isn't about spiritual bypassing, but rather seeking out moments of lightness while acknowledging and recognizing the overall experience. Choosing joy is the ability to step toward the future with hope. #joy #choosejoy #wessstafford #yoga #yogateacher #tuesdaythoughts

Sometimes I look at my journal cover rather than open it and write. When I purchased it the cover was what I wanted to become, to cultivate, to manifest. Now as I look at it I realize these actions and characteristics are things I already have and am, have always had and have been, and will continue to develop and explore. Creating a platform for teaching has been tough. There has been a learning curve and struggles along the way, but I am proud of what is being created and w...hat is to come. Are there any qualities or characteristics you want to cultivate? If you took a dive into yourself, I bet you would find you already have them. Website and on-demand classes launch January 1. Livestream classes start January 4. #yoga #yogateacher #havefun #innovate #encourage #behonest #inspire #experience #bekind #wednesdaywisdom #shelyoga
