With great sadness to report that WB Joe Detter, his wife Frances and one of their granddaughters died in a house fire early this morning. Another family member... was severely burned and jumped from a 2and story window. No other details are available at this time. Please keep the family in your prayers. See more
Good evening Brethren, Just a reminder... Shekinah Lodge will be holding a business meeting tomorrow, Tues June 2nd, at 7pm. This will be the last meeting until September, as we will be dark during the months of July and August (we are not having a 2nd meeting this month due to COVID-19). This is an important meeting, as we have business to discuss, as well as election of officers. Please make every effort to attend the meeting, provided you are healthy without any symptom...s of COVID-19. We will NOT be having a meal or refreshments. Hope to see my Brethren again tomorrow night! Fraternally, Zach Hardesty Worshipful Master Shekinah Lodge #256
Hello Brethren! It's been a long 2 months! I'd like to formally announce that Shekinah Lodge will be conducting a business meeting on Tuesday June 2nd, at 7:00pm. In accordance with the Missouri Grand Master's recent edict, we will be conducting this business-only meeting on the first degree. No meal will be served. It is also SUGGESTED that only Shekinah members be in attendance. Please DO NOT attend if you have any of the symptoms of COVID-19. We need to conduct our regular business, such as paying of bills, as well as hold our election of officers (normally held 1st meeting of May). We will forgoe our 2nd meeting of June, and remain in the dark until September.
In accordance with the edict recently issued by Most Worshipful Stanton Brown, Grand Master of the State of Missouri, I hearby suspend all stated business meetings and degree work of Shekinah Lodge #256, until at least May 2020, due to the contagious and potentially deadly threat of the Coronavirus global pandemic. This decision is also following guidelines recommended and/or set forth by Jefferson County Administration and Health Department, as well as the Center for Disease... Control, and President of the United States. At the end of April, I will reconvene with the other officers of Shekinah Lodge to discuss the current state of the pandemic and to make a decision on whether or not to extend the suspension of business meetings and degree work at Shekinah Lodge. Brethren, these are indeed strange times for everyone. We must set aside our personal beliefs, and treat this situation as serious as possible. Each and every one of us must do our part to combat the spread of this highly communicable and potentially deadly virus. I urge you to stay home if you can. Avoid public areas unless absolutely necessary. Wash your hands frequently; use hand sanitizer just as often. If we all do our part, we can help "flatten the curve" [of spreading the virus]. I'd like to share a quote that I saw, which originated from an unknown K-12 School Superintendent: "In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much. However, it will be QUITE apparent if we under-reacted or did too little". Once again, even in the most troubled of times, remember who you put your trust in.
