Springfield-Greene County Health Department 10.11.2020

As part of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services' community COVID-19 testing events throughout the state, a free testing event will take place at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds at 3001 N. Yesterday (Wednesday, October 28), we received 123 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Greene County. Our current total is 9,860 confirmed cases. As of this afternoon, there were 158 COVID-19 positive individuals hospitalized at either CoxHealth or Mercy Hospital Springfield. 57 of those individuals are Greene County residents. We are saddened to announce the deaths of five Greene County residents from COVID-19. Our community lost: A man in his 50s... A woman in her 60s A man in his 60s A woman in her 70s A woman in her 70s We extend our condolences to everyone impacted by these losses. Seventy-one deaths have been reported by the Health Department in October. A total of 148 Greene County residents have died from COVID-19. Nobody is immune to COVID-19we are all vulnerable to it, but we know some will suffer much more severe outcomes. Yesterday (Tuesday, October 27), we received 79 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Greene County. Our current total is 9,738 confirmed cases. As of this afternoon, there were 150 COVID-19 positive individuals hospitalized at either CoxHealth or Mercy Hospital Springfield. 58 of those individuals are Greene County residents. As of this morning, there were 165 COVID-19 positive individuals hospitalized at either CoxHealth or Mercy Hospital Springfield. 64 of those individuals are Greene County residents. We are saddened to announce the deaths of six Greene County residents from COVID-19. Our community lost: A man in his 60s... A man in his 80s A woman in her 80s A woman in her 80s A woman in her 80s A woman in her 90s We extend our condolences to everyone impacted by these losses. Sixty deaths have been reported by the Health Department in October. A total of 137 Greene County residents have died from COVID-19. While our current data trends are encouraging, these deaths are a regular and tragic reminder that what we do today will have an impact for weeks to come. Especially as we look ahead to the holidays, we cannot afford to let our guard down. We don’t ever want to have another month like October where we lose this many members of our community to COVID-19, said Director of Health Clay Goddard.
