The Mixtapes were troopers! Playing until the last minute before some heavy storms rolled in! Great performance as always!

Did you know.. The Grateful Dead’s Wall of Sound sound system was very much ahead of its time! It employed a concept of having a sound system for each performer, one that broadcast their respective instrument across the whole of the audience area.... This gave everything a very relaxed and high-fidelity sound, as the stress of multiple instruments and voices were divided between the multiple systems. It employed line source technology that allowed for the acoustic coupling of the transducers (speakers) that gave each speaker system the ability to be simultaneously pleasant to be directly in front of AND communicate to the farthest reaches of the audience seating with only a slight variation in loudness from audience seating front to rear. The past 20-years have seen us get excited about line source speaker arrays again, albeit we’re reproducing everyone on stage through a single system. These kinds of systems are now marketed as line arrays and are the banana shaped columns of speakers you typically see at concerts and events. So, in essence, it’s fun to see how we’ve come back in cycles to where we’ve been before, improving the audience experience at each step!

DID YOU KNOW?!: That 50,000 watts is only 3db louder than 25,000 watts? Did you know that most people like for their bass to be a minimum of 6 to 12 decibels louder than the rest of their music?... That means that you will need 100,000 watts worth of audio amplifiers for your bass region to keep up with your 25,000 watts of everything else! (If you are one of the 6db folks. This also means that you will need 400,000 watts of audio amplifiers to keep up with your 25,000 watts if you are wanting bass that is 12db forward of everything else. You may also need a lot more cash, and an electrical substation to listen to your favorite song.
