We were saddened to learn of Terry's passing last month. He was truly a class act, a union man all the way, and a wonderful friend, father, and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew him.
Congratulations to our own Loretta Haggard for her hard work and determination! "Haggard, the plaintiffs’ lawyer, said the court’s decision further proves unions are necessary and that their work to help protect educator and workers' jobs is essential to the greater good. Because of the union’s work on the plaintiffs’ behalf, the high-quality education Illinois students receive at community colleges will be preserved by ensuring talented, experienced full-time faculty will remain in the classroom, she said."
A group of union volunteers is seeking help from fellow building trades members and Labor allies to repair a Pine Lawn home, which will be used to provide transitional housing to cisgender, queer and transgender women.
A weekend of service as we supported BAMSL's Motion for Kids and the St. Louis Labor Council Food Drive!

Help our St. Louis community fight the good fight by coming out today and tomorrow!
'For many public-sector unions and the employees they represent, it changes how those unions are selected and retained, it restricts the scope and conduct of collective bargaining, it imposes various restrictions on speech activities and it creates broad new enforcement mechanisms,' wrote Sally E. Barker and Loretta K. Haggard of Schuchat, Cook & Werner, who are representing the plaintiffs."
