Parking at Schifferdecker Aquatic Center will be impacted due to crews resealing the parking lot. On Thursday, June 10, the western section of the parking lot will be closed. On Friday, June 11, the eastern section of the parking lot will be closed. Parking along 4th Street/Pool Road will be permitted as well as by the museum.

Schifferdecker Aquatic Center will be closed to the public starting at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 11 through Sunday, June 13 for the Joplin Stingrays Swim Team annual meet. Due to the closure, Cunningham Aquatic Center will temporarily open for the weekend to accommodate patrons. Cunningham Aquatic Center, located at 24th & Maiden Lane, will be open on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is $4.50 for visitors age 15 years and under and $5....50 for visitors 16 years and over. There is no charge for children age two and under when accompanied by an adult. The capacity of the pool is 400 patrons. Due to the facility being open temporarily, concessions will not be available to purchase. Patrons may bring in plastic water bottles. No glass containers will be permitted. The normal 2021 operating schedule will resume Monday, June 14, with Schifferdecker Aquatic Center being open to the public.

Due to the forecasted temperatures this afternoon in combination with the rain heading our way, Schifferdecker Aquatic Center will be closed today (Monday, May 31).

We wish we could end the year on better terms, but due to a lifeguard shortage, we cannot safely open today, Monday, September 7. Thank you for your support this year. We’ll see everyone in 2021!

POOL SEASON INFO With the #BackToSchool season quickly approaching, our 2020 swim season will start winding down soon. We lose a majority of our lifeguards and ...seasonal staff by mid-August because they are returning to high school and college. Starting Monday, August 10, Schifferdecker Aquatic Center will only be open on weekends from 1:00 - 6:00pm through Labor Day weekend. It will officially close for the season on Monday, September 7 at 6:00pm.
