Harrison and I decided to come back to MO for some fishing, however mom had different plans. Bluegrass festival or not, no fishing until the work gets done. Mom and Randy sure have Sally Mountain Park looking good. I hope everyone is staying safe. Come by and see us, but keep your distance .

I’m saddened to hear the news of Kenny Ingram’s passing. Kenny was at Sally Mountain Park many times over the years as a member of the Rage and Larry Stephenson Band. I was fortunate enough to catch a few moments with him over the years and realized very quickly he was like a professor of Bluegrass. If you mention a song to Kenny he pretty much new who recorded it, the original musicians, most if not all the words and the kick off. A true master of his craft. I offer prayers of comfort to Kenny’s family. We will all miss his presence on the stage and hard driving banjo tunes. Rest In Peace Kenny Ingram.

One of the times I miss the most of this weekend, is the Sally Mountain Park Sunday morning worship. Sunday morning has become a time at SMP when everyone joins together in song to to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Each year after the last note has been played, the delicious pies are all gone and folks are starting their journey home, it is our hope and prayer that in some way the Love, Kindness and Fellowship will create a spark that ignites a Love for Jesus. Whi...le we can’t be together this year to worship, I wanted to share a compilation of Sermons that has been stitched together to form a powerful message of Gods Love for all, from one of the most influential Christian leaders of our time, Billy Graham. I hope you will take the time to listen. If today you are filled with the Holy Spirit and are ready to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, reply or send a message Pray for me and will will lift your name up to the Lord in prayer. If today you would like to reaffirm your Christian faith, reply or send a message I Believe. Enjoy the sermon and if you will, please pray for someone today. See more

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY. It Wouldn’t be a Sally Mountain Weekend without a story. For the past two years at SMP, our friends(John and Brenda) from Chicago camped next to Hilary and I. one Of the most eagerly awaited events of the bluegrass week is the mid week arrival of the pumper truck that empties the camper holding tanks. Like everyone else, our friends wanted to have their tank emptied just to be safe. Our tank was fine as I don’t let the kids use the camper bathroom. I’m not... sure why, my dad didn’t let me, so I don’t let them. Fair is fair. Anyway, our friends had their tank emptied and we all went back to the daily tasks of the festival. Another set of Chicago friends(Todd and Sharon) were also camped in our group(it was there first time to Sally Mountain Park. While Todd was walking past John’s camper, he noticed water pouring off the roof like a waterfall.Todd quickly shut off the water hose that was connected to the camper and the water fall stopped. Todd and John went to work trying to diagnose the problem. They soon realized the water hose was connected to the holding tank flush inlet. Water had completely filled up the black water holding tank and water was flowing out of the toilet vent pipe onto the roof. Amazingly enough, the toilet seal held and very little water made its way inside the camper. it was a Blessing. we still have a good laugh about the situation. I didn’t even know such a thing like this was possible. So a word of warning, connect your water hose to the City Water inlet and not the Flush inlet or you may get a surprise. Of course, no one knows who connect the water hose like this. We just blame the pumper truck driver. I hope everyone has a safe and Blessed holiday weekend. We miss you all. May God Bless you and keep you. See more

Its a strange feeling to be sitting at home when we should be opening the gates for the 33rd Annual Sally Mountain Park Bluegrass Festival. I know the Front Gate Crew are missing visiting with everyone as they usually rolled in. While we can’t be together this year, I invite everyone to share a photo or a favorite memory throughout the week to help us make it through. We’ll see you in 2021 at Sally Mountain Park! Don’t forget to post this week. Even if it’s just to say hi. Stay safe and May God Bless you all.

Over the weekend we learned of the passing of our dear friend Jim Goodman. A description of "Dear Friend" doesn't even begin to capture how much Jim meant to the Vincent family. For many years Jim has kept the power flowing at Sally Mountain park. Before, During and after the festival he could be found checking electrical boxes, changing breakers, upgrading receptacles or crawling in the crevice of someones camper to diagnose their electrical problem. Jim saved the day time... and time again. In between the chaos of the festival day, he could be found enjoying a cup of coffee and swapping stories at the cook shack. He would go toe to toe with the best of them. In the evening, the jam sessions in Sallyville(as he called his campsite community) ran into the early morning. No doubt Bluegrass is the tie that binds the Goodman and Vincent family relationships, however it far exceed the gates of the bluegrass festivals. it is a privilege and honor to have shared a wonderful relationship over the past years with Jim, Mary, Jody, Dean and Toby. We pray for peace and comfort over the days ahead for Jim's family and friends. Go rest high Jim Goodman, the Mayor of Sallyville! Till we meet again. See more

Dear Sally Mountain Park Fans, Friends, Family, Pickers and Bands: After many discussions and prayers we are sad to announce the 34th Annual Sally Mountain Park Bluegrass Festival scheduled for July 1-5, 2020 has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We are Blessed to have many folks attend our festival that travel from all over the United States. Given the current situation, we feel it is in the best interest for public safety and health in our community and your...s to cancel for 2020. We are already planning and looking ahead to make 2021 the best year yet. It will be the 34th year part II. This virus outbreak has been extremely hard on the entertainment industry. Bluegrass is a relatively small community and small economic market for those that travel the roads performing through-out US. If you are able, please consider donating and supporting the online musicians, bands, local charities, food banks, healthcare workers and any others that are in need. For many, performing bluegrass music is their only form of income. Your generosity will be appreciated. We are extremely grateful for the love and support that has been shown to the Vincent family over the years and we want to thank everyone for the many wonderful years at Sally Mountain Park. We hope you will join us next year, June 30-July 4, 2021 as we give our 34th year another try. We appreciate and love you all. Together(but seperate) we will make it through these challenging times. We will continue to pray for everyone's health and safety. May God Bless you. The Vincent Family

Happy Birthday to one of the hardest working women in Bluegrass and most awesome mother. She is always great at making my brother, Darrin Vincent and Sister, Rhonda Vincent, feel like they are her favorites. I know her true favorite child! Happy Birthday to my mother Carolyn Vincent. Love you mom.
