Jefferson County Emergency Management has purchased PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) kits containing 50 surgical masks and one 8oz bottle of sanitizer to be given to the public. We have been given a supply to distribute to the public. If you need these supplies, you can message us on Facebook or call our main number 636-343-9300 and use extension #6 and schedule a time to pick a kit up at one of our Firehouse(s). As winter approaches, here are a few space heater safety points to keep in mind. Keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet from any heat source like fireplaces, wood stoves, radiators or space heaters. Plug only one heat-producing appliance (such as a space heater) into an electrical outlet at a time.... Turn space heaters off when leaving the room or going to bed.

If you are frying a turkey this year, make sure you place your fryer on a sturdy surface away from your home, eaves and trees. Never place a frozen turkey in the hot oil. Never leave the turkey fryer unattended.
