Just one day after a fire tore through a Kansas City apartment building, residents were bussed over to the Westport corps in midtown to receive emergency assistance in the form of Walmart gift cards to replace the necessities they lost in the fire. That's a lot of happy feet! Special thanks to John for collecting and his entire neighborhood for donating socks for our programs here in Kansas City. There are 740 pairs of socks for kids, women, and men in all these boxes. That's 1,480 feet that will be kept warm and toasty this winter! And a big thank you to John and his mom for dropping off the socks today.
