Fairy Tales & Far-away Places: On Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1:30 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Columbia, come hear a free, family friendly concert that will take listeners on a magical, musical and fairy tale journey. Come join the Basi family as they perform selections from Beauty and the Beast, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Moonlight Sonata and original compositions. The concert is free, but a donation will be collected that will benefit Down Syndrome support services in the mid-Missouri region. Kate and Christian Basi are directors of the contemporary choir at Our Lady of Lourdes, and one of Kate's compositions was recently a finalist for national song of the year. At the concert, 12-year-old Julianna (who has Down Syndrome) will make her solo singing debut while accompanied by her 14-year-old brother, Alex.
