I've had close to a dozen long-term care conversations the last 2 weeks. People are living longer because of advancements in medical technology, life expectancy rates are on an upward trajectory, and space in facilities is limited. It's not a pleasant topic to think about, and it can be a difficult conversation. But, more times than not, the things we don't want to talk about are exactly the things we should talk about. It's a personal conversation that should involve those you love and those you trust. This can include a financial planner or professional, an estate attorney, and others. Whatever the best course of action you decide, have a plan in place now so that you don't have to figure it out in the moment.
