Russellville Parks and Rec 06.12.2020

Drive by Railroad Park to see the beautiful Gold Star Memorial. Only 1 of 4 in the State of Missouri unveiled earlier today. We purposely didn't post a picture close up...just to give you an opportunity to see this beautiful memorial firsthand. Thank you to all those who donated to this beautiful #Goldstar Memorial honoring and remembering our Veterans who paid the ultimate sacrafice and their families. Also a special thank you to the coordinators of today's event Jeremy Amick and Dana Frisby, Capital Garden Club, Honored Guest Speakers, City of Russellville, American Legion Riders, VFW, Post 5 and thr many who attended. Come back downtown Russellville tonight to enjoy a Street Dance and make a donation for Central Missouri Honor Flight.

Several months of planning culminates today with the dedication of the Gold Star Memorial in Railroad Park across from City Hall in Russellville at 2 p.m. today.... This memorial represents scores of young lives who died in service to the nation and will serve as a point of reflection for the community. In addition to a number of interesting speakers, the VFW Post 1003 and American Legion Riders are also supporting this patriotic ceremony. Donations will be accepted for the Central Missouri Honor Flight and Navy veteran Dana Frisby will be providing a free pulled pork sandwich meal while supplies last. The address for City Hall is 13203 Railroad Avenue, Russellville, Missouri. As a reminder, this is an outdoor event and the public is welcome to attend.
