REAL TALK/LONG POST: We stayed up finishing things way too late last night. Three years after buying the building, it was finally happening and I still wasn’t ready. It didn’t look like what I thought it was going to look like. I didn’t get the perfect opening line prepared. I didn’t have things exactly where I wanted them. I didn’t have time to prepare a fun and creative opening. I had to cancel many orders that were not going to arrive on time. I had to opt for several item...s that weren’t my first choices. Nothing felt right. What am I even doing trying open this kind of business? I am a simple farm girl. A homeschool mom. A stay-at home mom of nearly fifteen years. The enemy told me I was out of my league. I was tired, I believed him, and I went to bed upset. Then this morning came and I had nerves I could not shake. After the doors opened, someone found a pair of shoes with mismatched sizes. I tagged those together. If I did that, what else did I mess up? Later, I went to refold a pair of jeans and they were dirty with clothing preservative. I almost vomited. How many people saw them and what are they saying? But as the day passed, I realized just how imperfectly perfect it was. The jeans and the shoes were the worst thing that happened and you guys showed out with the most amazing support. Everyone was SO encouraging, I met some super cool people, and I got to chat with people that I rarely see. Our opening day profit could cover the store mortgage for the next four months. I’m beyond floored. I’m truly glad the first day is over but I do look forward to serving you again tomorrow. THANK YOU JESUS AND THANK YOU CENTRALIA AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS.
