I went out to check on our chair today! If you’re coming into the area for the Lebanon-Laclede Route 66 festival, please take a moment and go to the bridge and sign the chair! Make a selfie or video! The bridge isn’t dead yet!

The Rt. 66 Gasconade River Bridge Guardians 12.12.2020

On this morning program it's a new trivia contest (free book!), the story behind a couple of historic hotels, holiday shopping ideas and more. The photos of the... hotels to be discussed this morning were posted yesterday on the Jim Hinckley's America Facebook page. Today's program is sponsored in part by the wonderful, delightful, magical Historic Wagon Wheel Motel featuring Connie's Shoppe in Cuba, Missouri. It is also sponsored by the supporters of our crowdfunding initiative on the Patreon platform. www.patreon.com/jimhinckleysamerica See more

Th...e final 1.7 mile segment included a new 664 foot long bridge over the river and a 125-foot span over an overflow. Completion left only a segment Phillipsburg as the only incomplete section of Interstate 44 in Laclede County. It was expected to open about December 1. The old Route 66 Gasconade Bridge is now critically endangered, despite a major effort by a private group to take ownership. See more
