If you found the places in your heart or actions you are wrong and worked diligently to correct the errors... well done! If you considered others and found ways to lessen their load... well done! Dennis Reis would say that horses can startle and run a quarter of a mile without thinking or blinking. One of the things he teaches his horses is to spook in place or not get so panicked they take off in a dangerous way. I know this is true. I’ve been on two runaways in my life. And I’ve come off two runaways. And I got hurt both times. People need a way to spook in place too. Lots of people have hyper vigilant startle reflexes that they don’t know what to do with. ... With horses I do desensitization with plastic bags, ropes, balls, bicycles, water, and things to help them move their feet but in an organized lowering the panic way. With humans EMDR can be used to do the same thing. EMDR helps a scared brain communicate with itself to help feet move in a lowering the panic way. I know. I’ve lived with panic. Both riding and EMDR offer the bilateral work for scared brains to calm and think and process. Love your horse, love your brain... today!

I’ve been studying through church historical foundations. That means to me if I look at what made the church before buildings... work... what is it. One of the ...things is found in the five fold ministry. I am thinking through the many churches I have attended and been a part of over my lengthening years and I can count 1 that I remember that talked about giftedness and the fivefold ministry. Working through personal struggle feels like moving a mountain with a teaspoon. Why is that? Some of it must be not wanting to encounter emotional content. Some must be brain changes. All of the struggle takes place spirit mind and body. The habits of self protection may have come about in a traumatic instant some have have crept in through finding easy access. Take for example it might be easier to come home from a hard days work and sit and watch tv instead of mowing the l...awn. But because all struggle is not I only one place it is difficult to get through. Many times we want to say something like emotional upset or mental illness when it could be spiritual warfare. If that is true how do you conduct spiritual warfare? Did you know you could/should?
